That rally at 21-20 was probably the best rally I have seen this year to be honest :0 The defense of both players is incredible, current momota could learn haha

Chen Long had the same problem in 2011. Great shot and rally tolerance but nothing to show for in terms of offense.

Come 2014, he had read a book too many about attacking plays and changed his results/success-story upside down.

I don't think the yellow card was uncalled as she did not listen to the umpire. She heard but did not listen.

Wouldn't say she's back at her peak yet... When she won the IO and JO back to back in 2019 that was astonishing form (that led to injury).

She was ignoring him totally lol. The quick response was refreshing to see from an umpire.

I think the umpires have enough of Sh*t from some players throughout the tournament...
He is one to look out for if you want to play delay tactics

How did Hoki transform from his much-chastised performance in Thomas cup to playing the finals in Denmark Open??

    @Michael V @Maurice MJC

I agree with Michael here, for "peak", the players are all too tired and the circumstances in this Corona season too unusual. I think AY played her best match against CYF in the SC final, which was also the highest quality WS match in general in this whole block of tournaments. It all understandably went a bit downhill from there. She was already looking so tired - hindered, even - against ASY in the UC, so I didn't think she would be able to drag herself over the line here. I'm really delighted for AY right now.

AY will be so happy that she gets to play French Open in two days time! :D

AY should withdraw from French Open. She has been looking tired since UC. She should not overdo it and injure herself again. She is just barely coming back from that last back/leg injuries. We need her on tour to keep WS interesting.

There you go again, and picking on SYQ (because he's Chinese?), why? JC's 0-15 retirement didn't bother you? Come on, talk is cheap, you're not in their position. You want to see any one of them injured?

    Show some empathy.

Did not have high hopes for the japanese coming into today's final but Hoki is playing surprisingly well so far.

    Just clarifying for myself ;)

Retirement of JC had nothing to do with the retirement of SYQ. But well oh well.:cool::cool:

Yes, Chen Long has the athleticism, agility, stamina, and endurance to keep going ,defending and retrieving like nobody's business as well as attacking whenever the opportunity arises. But not these ladies, Chen Yufei, He Bingjiao, An Seyoung, not yet.

After already getting red card and annoying people with delay tactics, I just hoped ASY being won't do some thing stupid like what Shi did.

You seem to label/accuse anyone who disagree with your opinion as anti-chinese, even though you probably know my fondness of CL, I appreciated CY's playstyle which led made her win against TTY against whom may players struggle, appreciated LSF game recently, this shows you stoop to lie when you start losing an argument. You just didn't lose the argument, also lost respect.

O -15?! ZERO !, why not go all the way to twenty-one - zero? And where's that interviewer at the post-match interview to question JC?

    And don't split hairs.

Lest you think I've anything against JC, no, not at all, he's good player, a nice guy. That's not the point. Only @Nine-tailed Fox was fair, genuine and honest enough to query during the match.

Anyway, it's over. Pointless to talk about it any further.
