Yup, way too much punch clears, he's just inviting the attack and hoped that Jojo would slip up.

Congratulations to Indonesia for winning their 14th Thomas Cup. Well deserved and overall a great performance by the players. They beat all the top contenders (Chinese Taipei, Thailand, Malaysia, Denmark, and finally China in the final). They only have not beaten Japan but looking at the performance they have shown in this tournament, I don't think Japan could beat them as well. Let's see if they can retain the title next year.

Yeah, with the power of Indonesia team now, I think Japan need the full team as Momota, Nishimoto, Tsuneyama, Kam/Son and Endo/Watanabe to face. The result is 50-50.

With Japan team now, I think 25% chance of win is an appreciation when facing Indo team

Nice congrats to Reony Mainaky. The 1st year after he was promoted as head, he delivers and brings back Thomas Cup, the Cup that his brother Rexy & Susi Susanti can’t do.

Congrats Indonesia for winning the Thomas Cup after 18 yrs. They are the strongest team and well deserved! As we predicted there really isn't any way that China could beat INA's lineup.

I'm really curious what would happen if SYQ, Twin Tower and CL also participate against INA
But this victory is still well-deserved

It’s clearly the weakest China team in a long while. But I am not sure anyone cares :p A win is a win. To win as the favorite, as we have seen time and time again, is a lot harder than it sounds.

How good is Rian. His new serve stances is much better and his serves are literally perfect in SF and F. This has been the one holding the pairs back. (AE SF, AG F etc). His drive flick serves will never be faulted and player literally shouldnt smash in return because they will get out of position. Reactions simply cant be that fast too as you can only move after shuttle served.

I thought Rian Ardianto is prone to errors under pressure, but their performances this week should help him and his partner. Maybe they will really soar now.

Setiawan's absence looks to signal his retirement soon. Will the Daddies defend their WC in Dec? I hope not, to keep the pair undefeated record in WC. :p

The wait is over, 19 years have passed, finally Indonesia can bring back Thomas Cup, 14th title since won first time in 1958. The well balanced Indonesia team subdues the weaken China squad with tough effort especially in singles discipline, a well deserved champion who has tough path since the beginning of this tournament to pass major stumbling blocks, DEN & TPE.

    upload_2021-10-18_8-11-2.png

Anthony Ginting began Indonesia triumphant to outwit Lu Guangzu who has powerful smash and quick movement that troubling Ginting at opening game. Thereafter the Indonesian settled on his own game to unleash more quality shots like deceptive drops and controlling the net play, the momentum swifts gradually to Tokyo bronze medalist despite the stubborn Lu still catching up one by one but it's faded at the end. Alfian/Ardianto widen the gap to neutralize the explosive duo He/Zhou, the Chinese scratch combination produced strong comeback in second game to balance his more experienced and high profile opponents and looking good prospect to force rubber games if one of them didn't mishit the shuttlecock into the net. Once again Jonatan Christie proves his superb fitness level in battle of endurance 82 minutes of play to outlast China promising talent Li Shifeng, his fierce cross court smashes kill shuttlecock effectively. Experience and shot variations alongside stamina have separated these two players, Li ran out of steam in late stage of deciding game.

Well, badminton fans don't need two years to wait Thomas-Uber Cup next edition as seven months later these prestigious team events will be contested in Bangkok, May 2022 (hopefully it will going ahead as scheduled).

It was always between INA and DEN and they beat them in the semies, that was the real final. This is by far the weakest Thomas cup team sent by China. Jpn really blew up their chances to be in the final.
