Over for JPN. I really wanted to watch Momota v Axelsen or Ginting. This might help him get back some of his game. Make him reminesce his former glory. Very sad. When will I get to see him play again?
We've got to congratulate AA. He's not only playing a badminton match, he's also completing a half marathon in between rallies.
Yes, Li Shifeng tends to play too many fast clears and certainly not as attacking as the young Lin Dan , far from it. But he's still young, age 21, time is on his side. I'm sure the Chinese coaches know what to do with him, an unpolished gem awaiting the (grand)master coach to mould him into a shining star one day.
AA needs to work on his stamina. It’s not the first time he has lost it due to stamina on the 3rd game. Maybe he can learn a thing or two from Chou Tien Chen ?
JC did it! I didn't expect that. I hope it means the resurgence of ina players. I'm done with not on form badminton. I want everyone to bring their A game. Including Momo ofc
WOW, Jonathan Christie won it for Team INA 21-16 in the rubber-set! He was trailing 1-6 and 15-16, before he rattled 6 straight points to make it 2-1.
Great game from Jojo. Glad that he was able to ein despite the theatrics by Antonsen. If only Sai had half of the determination that Jojo has...
Well done, JC. Men's singles desperately needs him to play at his best consistently. Not much quality in depth left.
Ok, Antonsen needs to work on his fitness. He can't win the Olympics or WC with fitness like this. I never knew Antonsen had a fitness problem until today. Antonsen was gassed when Christie had 19 points, but Christie was still moving well. I think somehow, Viktor improved his fitness from his earlier years. That brought Viktor to another level. Antonsen's poor fitness explains why he played so defensive in the last match at the Olympics (I can't remember who Antonsen lost to, but I do remember Antonsen playing very defensive in the last set he played at the Olympics before he lost).
