Not just melanti, Jordan hasn’t kept his pre-covid physique too. Just look at his 2019 vs current physique, he has definitely grown a little bit, or maybe what we call being in love and thus has grown a little plump? Either way I hope they bounce back again, they have so much potential, especially against the Chinese XD ..

What a service nightmare though o_O I did appreciate the novelty of it but both of them are naturally front court players. Obviously Matsumoto was assigned to be the back court player in this pairing but it was pretty obvious she was taking shots she otherwise wouldn't and it didn't look too comfortable.. I was scared she was gonna injure herself a couple times. I'm not confident they can win against MAS and especially against CHN/KOR. Loved seeing Matsutomo again on a WD court though!

This KOR lineup really just puzzles me... Is Chae Yujung not around?

I think she's injured or something. I can't confirm but that might be the only reason. Chae Yu Jung or not, this XD point is already China's. They will rely on MS, MD and ASY to advance it seems.

    CHN v KOR

On paper scenario, China is favourite to win 3-0 with the above order of play. They set Wang Yilu to play twice to direct their absolute point XD coming as first match considering MD & MS contributing losing point constantly. The big concern for China should be MS, Shi YQ has mental block to overcome, contrast psychological condition with Heo Kwang Hee who beat Chou TC here and became hero to outlast Vitidsarn yesterday.

This will be interesting , scratching paring for Korean XD,, Chae hasn’t even played 1 game so far in this tournament I think? And looking forward to china’s MD too, 2 super smashers ! But the front court will be up for grabs

Looking at the TFR rate and how quickly Japan and Korea depopulate ( as it has been below 2 since decades ago) thus the reason its hard to find the next LeeYongDae for example, I will not think that its tough for Overpopulated Indonesia to do regeneration but if you have to take the average age of the squad, i think they are the oldest around.

So i guess its just laziness to do regenaration.

Wow SYQ, defence is awful. If you play just a little long rallies, he will almost lose all of the rallies.

Feels like he is a shadow of his former self. There is still chance to win this but hmmm....

OH YEAH, they have many cameras, change angle like a movie.

And they don't show the situation the audience and player want to rewatch

Perhaps it makes sense to create a "Bets" section on the forum where everyone could share their thoughts on the games.

Well, it's their first match together, so cut them some slack. Also, Matsutomo is actually quite good from the back. The commentators often mention that she's weak there, but I don't think that statement has been true for years. She's really creative from the back and distributes the shuttle with great precision and surprises the opponents a lot, which does of course work really well with someone as capable as Matsumoto at the front.
