Congratulations Malaysia!!!! Amazing display by the youngsters! I am actually very excited to see the MAS players to grow now A bit disappointed for my country INA, especially for the WD But the team doesn't deserve to win anyway
Wow,I just found out the result because I was too tired to watch the last match, congratulations Malaysia! Feel so touched by their performance, they played so well. Sent from my SM-A307GN using Tapatalk
Whether it’s the World Championships, Olympics or Team Cups, the minions never miss a chance to let down their country… Thank goodness Ahsan/Setiawan are still around to carry the standard. But not sure how much longer the old warriors can carry the torch…
Melati is eating too much good food in Indonesia. Man… please pay attention to Korea’s Shin & CHN’s Chen/Jia, these 3 players have slimmed a lot & noticeably more agile in court. I guess INA’s regimen is not strict & afraid to discipline the players Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
yep the coaches are too afraid of the players especially the so-called 'best INA players' even though they have choked again n again n again n again in big tourneys definitely time for new players in pelatnas otherwise come paris 2024 INA will get 0 medal for sure it's true the current so-called best players will be more mature come paris 2024 but i still doubt anything will change coz these super talented players....so much talent but lacks hard work n brain turns to jelly come important matches not to mention food in the mouth more important than anything else......bah useless
Obviously PraMel losing to this unheralded Malaysia XD is the biggest upset. 7.5 is too good to turn down lol. 1.05 for Pramel to win its a joke. They might unheraledd, but i have watched them play and they arent not bad. Much like ChiaSoh, they are on the up so its normal they will be motivated. Playing a lazy G1 doesnt help.
There isnt regeneration. The jury will be out whether LeoDaniel will be good. The amount of mistakes and concentration lapse that Gregoria show means she must make way for PKW in the future. I dont think she is bad but we have seen this side of her time and time again. If FajarRian is good then they should be the one that go to Paris2024 along with LeoDaniel. Indonesia performed well in OG, bringing home the Gold is the priority. For this TeamEvent, the way i look at it players arent that motivated. Other than GreysiaApriani, the rest is way below par. I dont think Greys even train that much even if they should have won easily
MAS-INA, 3-2 INA misses the winning goal to score another setback in Sudirman Cup history, unable to advance into final four meanwhile the valiant MAS young team surpasses quarterfinal target. Bad omen for the "Merah Putih" squad started when The Minions faltered to Aaron Chia/Soh WY in two straight games, the Indonesians were so passive, instead of their usual fast furious aggressive style, seemd losing desire and soul, something wrong with them as declining trend has emerged. Then Ginting can't anticipate the different level of Lee ZJ who took command this time where his netplay, strong defense and lethal smashes really troubled Tokyo OG bronze medalist. Leading 2-1 really boosted MAS player confidence in last two matches where INA is favoured to seal it but world number #4 Jordan/Oktavianti screwed up despite saved four match points but it's too late to deny MAS a semifinal spot and repeats 2009 Guangzhou achievement. Denmark stretches hot favorite China into the limit, losing narrowly 2-3. It’s about mental game that the plucky Denmark duo Rasmussen/Sogaard who edge out the nervous Chinese scratch MD He/Zhou despite they’re trailing behind most times, including late stage of final game, took five straight points from 16-19 to 21-19. Chen YF playing quite under pressure to halt the ambitious Blichfeldt in three games. Luckily the Olympic Champion handles the nerves well as highly likely CHN journey in this competition depends on her shoulder. The writing is on the wall for Shi YQ who's outwitted by Axelsen once again. His attacking smash looks blunt and can't break the Dane solid defense plus the Chinese has no other game plan instead of his text book pattern. Saw the gap between these two players in self-belief, tactical, defense and level of play. KOR-THA, 3-2. A hard fought battle for KOR to take revenge over THA of their defeat two years ago. Endurance contest in MS & WD as Korean players have forte. An awful display by current AE runner-up Pornpawee Chochuwong who's really lethargic, dispirited and ran out of idea to balance An Se Young agility. Actually Thailand had better prospect to win with that clever order of play, fortunately the teen star Vitidsarn fails to subdue the stubborn Heo Kwang Hee, wasted good chance in third game. JPN-TPE, 4-1 TPE MD discipline have significant development, inspired by the Olympic Champs Lee/Wang. Kento Momota needed very tough effort to overcome CTC last night who delivered all his best to balance his rival steady play and long rallies, it's Momota careless who played quite loose in 10-3 healthy lead of second game and let Chou catched slowly and seized momentum and brought the Japanese into difficult times in final game to complete the match, 82 minutes of play.
Tan/Thinaah is the WD pair to look out for in the coming years. They gave the Olympics champion Polii/Rahayu such a tough task to overcome. The INA pair should have won the match comfortably in 2 straight games, not 3 tough ones, considering they are the reigning Olympics gold medalist. Disappointing performance from Polii/Rahayu, though they won the match in the end.
Liu Cheng is still playing? Lol. When Zhang Nan retired, he should have retired too. Korean MD would definitely hope to play Liu Cheng/Wang Yi Lyu to tie up if it comes to that today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Polii is retiring at the end of this year after world tour. Anyway they still won today regardless because both Polii/Rahayu have a tough mind no die mentality unlike the rest of the INA team. Polii wants to retire with a bang. She has played in Sudirman Cup for 8 times. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
yeah it's a plague among the players in pelatnas especially evident among the males... they started good... strong... with big prospect....then after a few years becomes wimpy....the no die mentality becomes oh i am rich n comfortable now mentality......screw the coaches....screw big tourneys better start the regenerations earlier .... better now than later
I think part of the problem is also the coaches, they should have prepared the players. Can't believe Ginting lost 2 matches this Sudirman Cup against players that he won many times. But anyway Malaysian playing nothing to lose and did well is what matters.
