Today, this is what I felt during the match -

I felt Sindhu was quite upset with yesterday's loss.
And finally she brought out her top game against HBJ.

And when she finally won she was very relieved.

I'm being very frank. I think Sindhu was in 2019 WC form and had it been not the unbeatable Tai in her pathway, I'm saying this it would have been really tough for anyone to beat her. This Sindhu could only be stopped by unbeatable Tai, Marin and maybe CYF (I'm not sure).

The play Tai showcased yesterday was nothing short of masterclass (after 18-18 first game, Tai shifted gear and there was no stopping back). Fast fwd 24 hrs, did she play the same game against Chen Yu Fei, absolutely not. Quite the contrary. I feel the Tai Tzu Ying we witnessed yesterday could not be stopped by anybody. Neither prime Sindhu nor CYF. As for Marin, I'm 80 percent sure she could not have stopped Tai. She was that good for me.

In Paris Sindhu will be 29.

I avoid these "greatest" topics since I think it's subjective.
But IMO if Sindhu does manage to win a gold in Paris, she will be the GOAT in WS badminton..
Just my opinion.(may be a little biased)

I know it's a BIG if. And there are several other contenders like - Susi Susanti, Zhang Ning, Carolina Marin etc.

    I disagree.
Tai is a great player, but she is certainly not unbeatable as some people in these BC forums claim.
And she was definitely at her best against CYF.
    I watched the whole match.

CYF did not allow TTY to play her game.
    Neither did Sindhu in Rio.

To beat TTY you need a combination of good defence, good attack and a frantic pace.
It is a rare combination, but TTY is definitely beatable.

Do they ever get the money, or do they just promise this amount?
I remember a few olympians including Saina complaining that they did not get the promised money even a year later.

Previous domestic football league (I League) which was organized by AIFF (national football federation). One club Aizawl FC won it, they had to wait for 1.5 years , they didn't get the amount. So they wrote a letter to AIFF top brass demanding the amount be paid to them.

In same case, Manu Bhaker when she won a big tournament either it was WC or YOG, so Haryana State Govt announced cash awards for her. After some months, she didn't get the amount. These two are the cases I know.

Money must be going to the athletes but after a long time I feel. You know the red tapism and lethargic system here.

Yesterday's Tai was given a lot of time to play her shots, hence her deception worked. Sindhu was playing great for the first half and drawing errors from her but she let Tai catch up and lost all her confidence from there on. Tai is susceptible to errors if matched with pace. It felt like Sindhu didn't played her attacking game yesterday. I didn't saw her full match against He Bing Jiao but what I gather by watching the highlights is she played a good attacking game, I am not necessarily saying attacking smashes.

    Tai's Facebook post:

IMG][IMG][IMG]

I stepped on this dream stage for the third time, and finally made it to the finals, but I couldn’t stand on the highest podium. There is always a little regret, but imperfections always exist, so I have the motivation to pursue better. result.
Maybe I won't have another chance to participate in the Olympics, but I have achieved this goal, but it is not so perfect.
I just want to tell myself: Dai Ziying, you are great!
Thank you all for supporting me. The result is always cruel and I can only accept it, but I tried my best.
Thank you to everyone who helped us during this period. Thank you to the representative office in Japan who sent a secretary in the hotel to help us with various issues.
Thank you to my team. During the epidemic, we can't go home together and train for a long time.
    Thank you for everything ❤️❤️❤️
Share a little story. After the match, I was satisfied with my performance. Later, Sindhu ran over to hold me, held my face, and told me: I know you are uncomfortable, and you have been very good. Okay, but today is not your game.
Then he held me in his arms and said: She knows all about it.
That kind of sincere encouragement made me cry directly...
It's really sad because I really worked hard.

Thank you again for your support and encouragement.
Thank you for walking with me till now.

Sindhu is such a sweet heart.

I feel Sindhu wasn't allowed to play her usual game just coz Tai didn't let her. Her strategy and execution coupled with her confidence and error free game were the factors which make her run away with everything. Of course yes, lack of confidence was there in Sindhu but that happened just coz of the way Tai played.

I'll say Sindhu didn't lose but Tai won.
