Well if such is the case , I wonder what was the reason for choosing World No.2 to win against World No.1 in XD

Perhaps to make Japan XD feel better that they lost only to the pair who eventually became Champions .

Yes, less pressure which will be good to TTY.
Like I said earlier, in RIO 16, had MAS MD won, maybe LCW will win too.

This is only done during the previous stages. They don't really do it in the Final, except if there is extra to point to be gained by certain player to qualify to a near future tournament (e.g. Olympic)

Come on not all of his deception are bad :D anyway I just remember he always like to put some deception whenever he lift from that position, although sometimes he made it too obvious when he did that big double swing with his head going to another direction :D

well, i meant FHF/ZN, GohTan and EllisLangridge. As a pair only GohTan won what 2 SS after that. As for FuZhang, yeah i dont really like to see a gold medalist just retire right after OG. As a pair, it will still be nice to continue playing imo.

Why ask me? I shan't indulge in such idle, wild, groundless, uncalled-for, sore-loser-mentality speculations, that smacks of anti-China bias which reflect badly on the accusers and showed no respect for Tai TY as well, as if she feared CYF more than HBJ. Shame on those petty, childish, self-demeaning cowards.

Why don't they pose that question or suspicion to TTY and see how she feels and/or responds to it?

Besides, is HBJ that much weaker than CYF, esp the now much leaner and fitter HBJ who bested none other than Nozomi Okuhara yesterday?

Have you guys forgotten who stopped TTY in the early rounds of the 2018 World Championships? Answer: He Bingjiao!

What's more, if you aspire to become World or Olympic Champion, you must always be prepared and ever ready to take on all comers and challengers, and beat all the best opponents to be worthy and well-deserved of the title, stand tall, and earn the respect and admiration of everyone concerned without question, when even the defeated salute you.

Common, the Chinese coaches and players are human beings, born of parents like you and me and everybody else and wish their sons and daughters get ahead in life based on honest work hard, sacrifices and merits (except, perhaps, for those born with a silver spoon in his or her mouth, even then I'm sure most of them want to achieve something on their own).

Or, do you for a moment believe China players, in this case, CYF and HBJ, do not have personal goals and ambitions, proper pride and dignity, that their coaches can simply ride roughshod over their feelings and decide their fate against their wishes without so much as a murmur? And as a coach, how sure are you that your decision , assuming you force it down their throats, turns out to be right, and put your career and reputation on the line if it turns out wrong? Why, is the price worth it? You mean, China has never won a single Olympic gold in history for any sport before? You think coaches don't have to care about the feelings and morale of all the team members , and still gain their respect and cooperation, without having to bear the consequences?

For Heaven's sake, what did HBJ work so hard, shedding those kilos and punishing her body so much for, just so to throw away her golden opportunity to fight for an Olympic gold when just one more step to go, the dream of a lifetime for every Olympian?

Mind you , we are talking about modern China today, the rising superpower! And, just to remind you, what is Xi Jinping's famous and most feared anti-corruption drive about?

Anyway, I shall not dignify those idiots with a reply. And I'd advise you not to stoop to their level. Enough said.
