Wow History is made. He could be the oldest medallist (Men Single), older than LCW - just like Hendra in Men Double in Olympic history.

And if that is any indications, it just shows rub salt to the wounds of Momota defeat. Have to say that's 2 most shocking successive events in badminton history. Beating Momota just to lose to Guatemala.

If you have been following badminton long enough, Kevin Cordon’s previous famous moment in badminton was when he knocked Chen Long out of the 2011 WC. Since then, Kevin Cordon hasn’t made big news in badminton but he made the news again today.

Didn't he also make it to the last 16 in London 2012? And lost to a very well playing Sho Sasaki?

If Apriani Rahayu can do it, Melati should be pressured to do the same.

Kwang Yee sole mission in the Olympic is to stop Momota for everyone else and then he can rest in peace.

A bigger pool of players and then select the ones who perform better. All players go through tough training - if you want to get the edge in performance, you have to train for it. Not just Chinese players

    Oh...the irony of it all.

After bird JPN's heartbreaking results, eMomota must be watching the MS quarter final...
    And kicking himself.
    Repeatedly.

If I were him, I'd be seriously considering seppuku at this point. How can he ever face the Japanese public again?
