If you want to become Olympic champion, you just have to be able to beat the best out there. Simple as that. TTY vs. RI are always amazing matches, I'm so looking forward to this. With sweaty hands already though...

That is exactly my problem with the article. They should have asked some follow-up questions here since that small part is by far the most interesting one and the thing that everybody wants to know.
If she considers "majors" only being the WC and Olympics, then her decision seems to be made: She will call it quits before the next WC and is only thinking about if she will do it directly after the Olympics or put in some more "non-major" tournaments as a farewell tour.

aaaaand, she broke that quarterfinal spell. This could have easily been the final as well, what an amazing match there.

...and now I need something to calm my nerves...

Most of the WS matches between the top 5 to 6 are good and can be considered finals.

Go for Gold. Let this be Tai's Olympics. I'll surely root for her.

Definitely. I loved to see how focussed and well disciplined she was playing today. There was a clear game plan and she stuck with it.

Completely open match against CYF tomorrow in my books though, really looking forward to it.

Congrats TTY on silver medal !! What a match

Tai has special skills that will enable her use lesser physical energy, but those skills also demand 2x more mental energy, too bad there is law of conservation of energy and 3rd law. While physical energy can be improved easily mental energy is tough to. Just my 2 cents.

I think it's more that her very technical style requires a lot of finesse (=body control), which will usually drop a bit when you're tired. CYF retrieved quite brilliantly today and managed to make the game uncomfortable for TTY, congrats to her, I just wish we could've seen this extraordinary talent who worked so hard for years now rewarded with the pinnacle achievement as well...I hope she continues on until the next WC and gets the gold there, but I also understand if she has enough of the pressures and expectations and decides to call it quits with this success

What an outstanding performance in the Olympics from TTY!

    Couldn't be prouder!!!!

Her deceptive drops are so soothing to the eyes and some of the DTL smash today were straight up fire!!

I can’t believe the level of badminton that TTY and CYF have just shown us in this final. Unbelievable.

Congrats to the Olympic champion CYF. A well deserved gold in the end. Her retrieval abilities are from a different dimension.

Congrats to TTY as well. She finally showed her best game in a major event and is surely happy about that silver medal. We’ll see what she‘s going to decide regarding her future.
