I will add that the low dives we make and then the instant explosive recovery to the base pos, followed by five steps backwards for the full power jump smash drains your lungs like nothing I have ever witness. And then at an advance level, we see 7-9 dives in a single rally, countless jump smash in a single point, lunges, the extreme full court, last sec, backhand clear Ohhh my God, I am so so tired imagining this.
Not to mention the acceleration to front court to get a low shuttle extending your head in front. Not only the acceleration make the lunge harder than your body weight but the weight of your head to the front makes it more difficult. Then you have to lift all that weight and get back to position and then back up and extend your core to get it. That's only two shuttles and it happens within seconds.
I have automatically imagined my favourite person to do it. Certainly not Sai Praneeth. GOAT Lin Dan.
Also, we often forget the deception part in these conversations. The deceptions in badminton are so deadly. Ever been deceived completely when you are at the front court and then have to hit a full court backhand clear from a pretty extreme position... It takes away all the Fluffiness of your calves in one such exchange. The mental fatigue from deception is another point no one makes in these convo.
Two words / phrases - Unpredictability and No Pressure. This is how he reached this stage, along with a little bit of luck.
