All i know is China players have been ridiculously resilient in this tourney. Imagine CYF - she is already a fighter
What happened? Chen Long happened. He was the better player, kept his nerves calm, and most importantly: he DARED to be a champion. It takes courage to win these matches. Just look at the point at 19-19 in the second set. It takes some god damn balls to go for that kill at that time. But that's Chen Long for you. Congratulations Chen Long, you were amazing today
You need to proof that. If faking it, then likely you will be punished if found out. By the way, if you miss tournaments and just aim for the big ones, then you will likely lose many ranking points and find yourself playing seeded players in the early round.
now what left me thinking could it mirachulously get to all korean final in WD? All Chinese finals in MS ALL japanese in WS It's all Chinese final in XD
Wow, what a beat down in the 3rd set. The 3rd set was the polar opposite of the 1st set. By the end of the 1st set, LZJ was full of confidence. You could see it in his body language. In the 2nd set, LZJ started to look shocked that CL became a different player, but LZJ still fought through and made it a close 2nd set. By the 3rd set, LZJ looked like a deer caught in the headlights. He didn't know what to do and had lost his confidence. He kept making so many unforced errors. When players are tired, they naturally make more unforced errors. But LZJ didn't look particularly tired in the 3rd set - he was still jumping and smashing and he seemed to have a lot of energy. I'm not sure what happened to him. But congratz to old man CL, I guess he still has a little gas left in him.
Mentality or physicality? Or both? He wasn't moving nearly as well in the 3rd as he had been in the 1st and parts of the 2nd
Who would've thought, what a dramatic turn in G3, Chen Long crushing the young upstart, 21-5! In the decider, Lee ZJ started impatiently after narrowly dropping G2, 19-21, then became nervous as The Dragon stretches his lead to a hefty 11-2 at the mid-game interval, after that its's downhill all the way for the young contender. I would say it's a case of Chen Long finally making his Olympic and World Championship experience gained from playing his opponent's mentor Lee CW count in the end.
Lzj just switched off in G3. It is like his body is there but his mind is not there. His physics is there but he is makong mistakes after mistakes. He vross court shots are poor, yet he keep making it again and again. Probably more than 8 points are from his own cross court shots that went out.
