From so many ,we are down to Fuku Hirota, lone flag bearers for Gold or Silver. Sad day. Sent from my SM-N975F using Tapatalk
terrible game plan. how many times are you going to let the koreans drive serve you? try blocking/driving a few smash returns in order to turn you defense into offense? extremely poor coaching.
Didn't expect this, I thought Japan has the best chance at gold in WD. Japan may end up with no gold.
As i mentioned before, apart from other things FLICK serve proved costly for Japan In XD Huang's flick serve got her so many points from 2nd Set against Arisa and for that matter even Yuta could not return well against a couple of Huang Flick serve. In MD Hiroyuki was particularly unable to execute his Flick serve well. Now WD. Sent from my SM-N975F using Tapatalk
I'm new to pro badminton but have become a big fan of the Japanese players, except I just don't understand- is Japan actually working on their offense? Each discipline I look at I can't see as strong a smash as other players. I know that doesn't make a game but the play making isn't even there and in this Olympics it seemed their trademark defending was down. I feel like opponents have learnt from the tried and tested defending strategy that got the Minions with Endo/Watanabe those years ago, and Japan didn't use the time they had to counter-measure the counter-measures... Also as much as I like Higashino is there really no other woman to pair with Yuta? I get they played forever together but I don't know if she's keeping up with Yuta's growth as a player. Yuta doing double disciplines wasn't the issue I think, the issue was he didn't have a Huang Ya-Qiong quality female partner that helped him to conserve his energy for MD. Am I totally missing the mark?
japan may end up with no medal at all (though highly likely they get bronze in xd, would put money on bronze for okuhara as well)
It baffles me why they didn’t serve short half of those times. Even if you serve it tiny bit short of the line, the opponents will hit it in a close game.
what a match....my fav pair, love to see their smiles on court, unlike some countries where the players just keep poker face all the time
