Viktor Axelsen has never beaten Momota before. Momota is no longer in this tournament. Viktor can't ask for more luck. Also, the same for Antonsen. Antonsen was destroyed by Momota at the WC final in 2019. Antonsen doesn't have to face Momota either. No excuses for those two.
BTW, I think the MS upset has to be related to the lack of top international competition for Ng Ka Long and Momota. Both had trouble participating in international tournaments before the Olympics. Both were out of form because they lacked competition at the top level. There may be further upsets, watch out. If anything, perhaps the pandemic is a boon to the lower ranked players.
AA has never beaten Ginting. So I don't think he's a lock to make the finals. His part of the bracket is pretty tough. VA will make it to QF easy. Then he will likely face SYQ. It's a 50-50 game but I think VA wins. In any case, I think it's safe to say this version of Momota-san isn't beating any of these top players at this time. Hope he recovers soon and plays well in WC in December.

I don't think either VA or Antonsen will make the final for sure. Lots of things can happen. They could be knocked out tomorrow. For VA, even a weakened Momota can beat VA because VA has some sort of mental block and loses confidence when he plays Momota.
If INA playing Dora/YiFan yeah maybe CHN may win but INA WD pair is used to CHN WD now... They are not afraid of those 2.

It's the Olympics, anything can happen tbh. I for one am going for either of the below to win Gold: Shi Yuqi Jonatan Christie Anthony Ginting Viktor Axelsen Anyone else, and I'd be disappointed - especially if Anders Antonsen wins, that would be terrible. Chen Long - already had his moment, but I wouldn't be disappointed to see him win - it would put him up there with Lin Dan tbh - multiple time WC/AE/2 time Olympic champion. Also, when did China revert back to Yonex gear? Looks good seeing the old Yonex fonts instead of the Li-Ning ones. Indonesia's kit looks horrible - and seems that the shirts aren't the sweat resistant ones - Jonatan Christie had to change his shirt twice!
All the kits are so lousy. Its just like kits for tournaments. Indonesia one has always been meh but i bought 2016 China Olympic jersey ( the one they used for that whole year, the blue and red) and its nice but this tournament, can only say disappointed with it.
