There is no Group B or Group O. Presumably the top 2 seeds will get the benefit of a bye in the round of 16.

Wonderful. Momo has an easy way to the semis, where he'll have to beat Axelsen or Shi Yuqi.

If Lee play like the way he played @ All England, he has the chance of winning the gold.
Kento definitely has the chance to reach Semis. He has the easiest draw .

I don't think he can beat Chen Long this time, even in his peak.

Final, most likely he will meet Viktor Axelsen in last four unless the Danish ace had secret weapon to conquer his nemesis there.

Shi Yuqi vs Victor Axelsen in Quarters will be a 50-50 match.

Axelsen has been in really good shape earlier this year.
We haven't seen much of Shi Yuqi for quite a while since his injury...

Ofcourse. But we don't know what China is doing behind the scenes. They will peak especially for big Tournaments.

Of all the Olympic games, this is probably the most exciting because we don't have a clue how everyone is doing and training over the past 6 months. Too bad it will be difficult to try to watch all the important matches due to telecast copyrights.

I remember for 2016 there was an android and I assume also IOS app that could be used in Canada (I think it was from CBC) that let you stream every single event as it happened.

Any idea if something similar is being done again this year? I looked online a bit tonight but couldn't find anything.

The streaming service Discovery+ will broadcast all events all matches from the Olympics live.

It's 60-40 (for VA), SYQ doesn't look good in recent simulation games against CL plus domestic event previously.

For Canadians I believe I did find where to watch. It's easy again this year (live only I think)

    https://www.cbc.ca/sports/olympics/summer/streaming-schedule

That link has the schedule, and if you click Watch Live at the top you can see the upcoming streams. Badminton is on the schedule, so it should show up in the upcoming streams list in a week as we get closer to the first session.

Any athlete (and country) who's truly serious about competing at OG currently during the pandemic will have had 2 covid shots by now. And hence they have nothing to worry about.

I am quite surprised at how many teams are leaving it so late to go to Japan with only a week before the start. Denmark I think are only arriving today.

They probably want to minimize risk of covid exposure there in Tokyo?
