Can the mods sticky this thread to the top? It is the calendar that we all use to see the upcoming badminton events. For a moment, I thought this calendar thread was lost until I managed to find it again.

This calendar thread is one of the most important threads in the tournament forum. Not sure why the sticky has been removed for this calendar thread.

According to the new "Race to Tokyo" the European Championchips are now Grade 2 , Level 5 . The winners gets only 7000 points like an HSBC World Tour 300 tournament. I've never seen that announcement somewhere ?!

Just wondering about BWF calendar in second half of 2021, how many tournaments can go on? Thomas-Uber Cup, World Championships should be the highlights since Sudirman Cup fate is still uncertain.

Scanning through the calendar, I can only foresee the following tourneys being held:
    Thomas/Uber Cup 2021 (9-17 Oct)
    Denmark Open 2021 (19-24 Oct)
    French Open 2021 (26-31 Oct)

World Championships 2021 in Heulva, Spain (29 Nov-5 Dec)

plus the various Super 100, ICs and ISs in Europe such as the Spanish International, Dutch Open, SaarLorLux Open, Irish Open, Scottish Open, Welsh International, Italian International

It's a shame US Open is already canceled. The number of cases here are plummeting with the high rates of vaccinations. Everything is set to be fully reopen in the next month in the entire US.

There's a chance Korea may be allowed to play. Their cases have been quite steady for some time now. The country itself has always been open to visitors during the pandemic, there's just a 2 week requirement for quarantine. If BWF can work on maybe lowering that to say 1 week, then there's a chance some more players will play.

Maybe other Asian countries will have tournaments as well with a 1 week quarantine requirement if cases drop again by that time. But with Asia, it's more of a risk, as if the cases rise, the tournament will get canceled.

Nothing but Europe where badminton tournaments keep alive in this region at the moment.

We'll see in September where three BWF Tours plus the rumored-Sudirman Cup will be held in East Asia nations.

I don't understand why only Badminton is postponing all tournaments. All others sports are going on normally but just without fans.

Why can't badminton be like that?
