CBA top priority to take part in IND Open is none but for the sake of Tokyo OG, yes how to upgrade ranking (SYQ case) in Race of Tokyo plus trying to secure second ticket in MD discipline. Other reason because IND Open title sponsor is Yonex.

This is a bit puzzling because when these players return to China, they have to do 21 days quarantine. Obviously I haven’t calculated the number of points they could gain from playing.

Pardon me for saying this, frankly, I thought I don't have to spell it out. First, India has just overtaken Brazil to become the second most infected nation in the world; second, no vaccine is 100% efficacious or effective. Hence, I believe, China, or CBA for that matter , requiring their players to be quarantined for 21 days upon returning home is fully understandable, better to err on the side of caution or better safe than sorry.

Instead, my concern is whether this group of CHN players may have to skip both the MAS Open commencing 25th May and the SIN Open starting 1st June as both nations require travelers entering their countries be on 14-day SHN (stay-Home Notice)? Given that, I suspect , to get round the problem, the CHN players affected will have to give the MAS Open a miss and fly straight to Singapore after the IND Open in order to take part in the SIN Open.

That also leads me to think that those CHN players who are not playing the IND Open will probably feature in both the MAS and SIN Opens respectively. Makes complete sense to me.

IMHO, as to why some nations mandate 21 days (higher upper limit) and not 14 days quarantine or SHN for entering or returning travelers, that's a matter up to the individual nations as some studies claim that the incubation period for Covid-19 in some cases may possibly be up to 21 days rather than 14 days, to be on the safe side.

The draws are out for the 14th China National Games https://sports.sina.com.cn/others/badmin/2021-04-15/doc-ikmyaawa9832302.shtml:

The draw for men's badminton singles of the 2021 National Games qualification round was made on April 15, 2021.

In men's singles, Chen Long, Huang Yuxiang, Li Zhuoyao (Lee Cheuk Yiu), Shi Yuqi, Liu Liang, Pei Pengfeng in the top half. Wu Jialang (Ng Kah Long), Lu Guangzu, Pei Zizhen, Li Shifeng, Huang Yongqi(Wong Wing Ki), Gao Zhengze, Sun Feixiang Lower Half. The final rounds will comprise 32 participants, none seeded.

A total of 128 players participated in the men's singles qualifying competition, consisting of three rounds, of which 16 players will advance to the final rounds (main tournament proper).

Men's team qualification round draw, group A: Hunan, Fujian, Hubei, Jiangxi, Hebei. Group B: Zhejiang, Sichuan, Anhui, Guangxi and Henan. Group C: Liaoning, Guangdong, Shandong, Beijing and Guizhou. Group D: Jiangsu, Shanghai, Tianjin, Shaanxi, Shanxi and Chongqing.

Women's Team qualification round draw, Group A: Fujian, Beijing, Liaoning. Group B: Shanghai, Hunan, Guangxi, Anhui. Group C: Zhejiang, Sichuan, Shandong and Jiangxi. Group D: Hubei, Jiangsu, Guangdong and Shaanxi.

For the men's and women's teams in the qualifying(preliminary) rounds, the top three in each group making up 12 teams in all will advance to the next stage in September. Then the top two in each group to enter the final eight of the competition, which has nothing to do with the results of the National Games yet until the final completion of the entire competition.

You can check zhuafan link (partial matches) : http://www.zhuafan.live/channeltypes/Badminton

The comprehensive live streaming (all courts) through CCTV application download : https://www.yangshipin.cn/

I watched SYQ match agaist Chongqing provincial player yesterday, it's still vague to gauge how far SYQ development post injury and long break since his opponent is two class below his standard.

I believe all CHN A-listers will skip that September event due to BWF projected hectic schedule post Tokyo OG.

I beg to disagree, I believe all the players are obligated to take part, I even think it's mandatory for them barring injury (or other unforeseen circumstances beyond their control), as the China National Games is a quadrennial multi-sport event, a mini national Olympics for them to represent where they belong to, provinces, municipalities, branches of the military.

My previous coach played in this All China games tournament. He told me it’s the highest priority tournament for Chinese athletes except for the Olympics.

It’s not only badminton - it’s all sports and the sportsmen are not representing themselves but their province.

I really admire this kind of setting, big countries like China, India, Indonesia and USA should do such events, develops sporting culture as well as team building effort for colleagues.

I read the rumour that the postponed Sudirman Cup and CHN Open (S1000) will be held on September.

Talking about National Games case or Pekan Olaharaga Nasional in Indonesia isn't top priority for elite athletes.

I know that National Games is very important agenda for PRC athletes and another socialist countries but if there's scenario that NG badminton schedule clashed with Sudirman Cup, which one they will choose?

Good question. I think national honour will come first but they might rearrange the timing of the badminton part of national games so that players can play in both Sudirman cup and then immediately following go to the National Games.

I think Sudirman Cup will take priority. After all, winning the National Games is important for the Province and athlete but that does not guarantee a place in the National team or to represent the country in international tournaments.

It's a win-win solution for CHN badminton players.
