He will get his deserved respect based on how he perform today. Coming to Kento, he responded like a true champion, a lot of players will just post 'not my day'.
I agree with you mostly. Why I'm not particularly worried is because these issues with Momota's game are a) fairly obviously down to lack of confidence, match practice (he did not turn from a tactically excellent player to an idiot), and b) fairly easily fixed. He's already stated he's seen many faults in his game. Questionable is his coaching, imo. I mean, what the heck was Nakanishi telling him? Play more short clears to the forehand, pls?
So that LZJ kid is looking good eh? I maintain my position, Kento wasn't his old self, but we gotta give LZJ some credit. One more game to go.
Yep, and Satwik Sairaj. LZJ gained my respect now, he has sublime, relaxed defense that is upsetting VA combine that with best fitness of his life+varied attack + net skills, and VA in zombie mode.
And maybe overestimated Axelsen (and Antonsen). He absolutely capitulated in the third. This supposedly only happens against Momota, because Momota "has the mental advantage" (as opposed to the playing quality advantage). Will the same people who constantly say that now say LZJ has won because of the "mental thing" or something along those lines? I doubt it. In my opinion, Axelsen put up a lot more of a fight in the third in 2019 than in 2021.
Axelsen was clearly tired in the 3rd. He played his SF match later than LZJ and had a much tougher opponent too. VA showed his fitness improved but apparently it's still not up there with the best.
Too much "LZJ" here, like the situation Momota lost to Ginting in China Open 1000. About All England, Lee Chong Wei have many. About beating Momota, in 2019 Momota in his highest performance won 11 tournaments but also lost to Shi Yuqi, Ginting, Huang Yuxiang and Nishimoto. So beating Momota is not something special like "wining a Olympic gold medal". Back to LZJ topic and celebrate it there! Let's Momota's topic for Momota's fans.
And this is the first time Momota comeback from an accident that almost killed him, for so many months without international matches, so winning against Momota this time isnt something really special. Time will tell that Momota can be champion again or LJZ can be the true threaten for the top players
I see mods are very quick about obliteration of the original thread and too slow on revealing the technical details of what has happened. The fact that the disappearance of the original thread seemed to had no impact on the functionality of the whole forum makes me very suspicious. It was stated back then, that thread's data had been saved in some way and it was only the matter of time to bring the original thread back online. I proposed my help in data restoration but no one ever contacted me about that. And now what? Let's forget it and move on? Ok. But still if there is at least minimal probability of returning the thread I would be happy to do everything I can to help with it. May be we should agree to delete the last month of it and never repeat those atmosphere? Anything. Just revive it please ))) original posts of mister Zimmerman are of historical value! Kurako's, Linguist's and all other's impact was so huge! We don't even know in what way in the future all this could be used.
