you are completely wrong. the athletes chose to play knowing the state of the world.

no team is forcing any athlete to play in any sport right now.

not athlete but bwf. They knowingly let the 7 positive cases go on. All they said is these athletes are negative but theres no proof of it. If it can be done that fast why the first set of tests were only known in tuesday.

Wow. This looks like a systematic discrimination against a country. Disaster of a Federation is BWF.

Just threw an entire country out of the tournament.

Wow... Just read all the Indonesian players got vaccinated twice and had two negative results upon testing in Birmingham.

    Biggest discrimination of the century?

just look at last night english service judge between ahsanhendra vs lanevendy

i mean INA has always won AE the last 10 years bar 1 edition and no CHN as well. It doesnt have to be this way too right if they sense they can win it and its ok to knock 1 of the biggest competitors left.

with that draw, Ginting is auto SF he is likely favourite.

Please remember that this situation is due to England's health Department, not BWF that disallow them to play. BWF gains nothing and lose a lot when top players such as Kevin/Marcus are not able to play. So it's in their best interest that everyone plays, and I'm sure they tried everything possible so the Indonesians can play, just like they did with other nations.

Come back to normal. Dont overreact. This happened to so many countries already in the Thailand open . So, Accept the reality and move on.
I felt the same way when they treated indian players in thailand like this . But , tournament has to go on.

Accept reality ?! So irresponsible to say so

Accept the reality and just let the 7 guys roam around the arena Wow

Nope. in TO, theres 14 days mandatory quarantine. Big difference.

if you want to talk about fair, then INA IND THA & DEN should be knocked out because they have to do isolation. In fact the other 3 deserves to be quarantined more due to 7 cases.

I wonder how it gonna be if they treat players in the same way in SOME OF THE UPCOMING OLYMPICS QUALIFYING TOURNAMENTS .
Wow. Then, it will be disastrous.

Somebody in charge need to ask them the query relating to this.

How come England players dont have any positive result considering UK IS THE HUNTING GROUND FOR MORE SERIOUS COVID INFECTIONS WHICH SPREADS FASTER.

Come on BWF, Wake up. They have to check their players randomly and give result.

Is there any moderators in here as some of these allegations are actually ridiculous and this thread is way out of hand now.

    Huh? Easy there Champ!

Nes Yigit, the WS was also on the same flight and she is scheduled for her match today against Ayamaguchi

What about the training sessions, the same bus travel to the main hall, the first round encounters involving these Indonesian champs. All those should be suspended from the tournament for close-contact.

Either postponed the tournament or retest the suspended athletes and proceed forward.

I love INA fans, I really do. Your passion for the sport is unmatched and it’s a dream of mine to be in a crowd in Istora one day. However, you’re coming across as being ridiculous with this agenda.

So let’s be realistic here. I have some knowledge of how the system works in the UK. For those who want to read more, the info is here:

    https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/testing-and-tracing/nhs-test-and-trace-if-youve-been-in-contact-with-a-person-who-has-coronavirus/

Now, the difference is between the Denmark and the INA situation is that the Danish team were tested by the tournament organisers using their tests, not by the government. The organisers can make a judgment based on false positives (these tests have been shown to give false positives in some instances) and retest individuals. BUT, it is out of their hands when someone tests positive that has had a test from the government. The government have a policy to contact all close contacts and instruct to self isolate, it doesn’t matter if you’re an INA badminton player or the Prime Minister. It is the rule. Now, that is frustrating of course. BWF, could have made everyone arrive 10 days before the tournament to safeguard from this measure, but they didn’t. That is on the BWF. Not the tournament organisers, not the UK government. This isn’t match fixing to allow GB pairs to progress (which is a silly accusation). This isn’t racism by the UK government to throw out a country from a tournament as they would’ve just straight up banned their entry and saved the hassle if that was the case (thus a ludicrous accusation).

I understand the frustration but please keep it civil and stick to the facts. Again, the information was widely available in the tournament prospectus prior to it starting. Everyone made a judgement whether to attend or not. Some did, some didn’t.

Let’s try and enjoy the rest of the matches.
