Happy moments shortly after the ceremonial session... Congratulations on their success at 2018 Indonesia Open and regaining World No.1 (again)!
Tontowi can't cover entire court by himself LOL. It is evident in Singaporean Open. How could they win AG?
Are they using notional points to join the tourney? I guess they are directly qualified to main round then
I guess she will play with Hendra Setiawan sometimes later, just for fun They talked about it several months ago
i would actually prefer him to partner with marsheila gischa to give her experiences partnering with top level male player
Farewell Butet... She is surely a legend in INA badminton long history. She surely is leaving at the top.
i just read today Owi/Butet will play Den, Frenchfry, and China 750 ..... the 3 tourneys will be their farewell tourney..... oh and seems Owi going to get DellaDestiara going forward instead of Winny Kandow weird stuff.....
It's remain a question whether butet it's already retired or is she still gonna play in indonesia masters next year, I hope she's gonna play in indonesia masters next year...just so she can get the farewell she deserved. BTW, just curious...where do guys rate LN in all time list ? top 3 ? top 2 ? or even the GOAT ?
Retirement calling for Tontowi Ahmad, happy retirement and good luck for his next chapter of career outside badminton! Tontowi Ahmad – A Skilful Player Who Left his Mark Monday, May 18, 2020 TEXT BY DEV SUKUMAR | BADMINTON PHOTO https://olympics.bwfbadminton.com/n...owi-ahmad-a-skilful-player-who-left-his-mark/ Olympic gold medallist and two-time world champion Tontowi Ahmad’s decision to call time on his international career brought the curtains down on an eventful career. Ahmad’s retirement comes a year after that of his partner Liliyana Natsir with whom he won all his major accolades, including the Rio 2016 gold, world titles in 2013 and 2017, and three straight All England crowns. The ‘Owi-Butet’ combination was a striking one; Natsir had already established herself as one of the premier mixed doubles players during her time with Nova Widianto; Ahmad was able to bring his own unique skills to complement her. However, while Natsir was noted for her solidity, Ahmad was more of a maverick – able to achieve stratospheric heights, but at times prone to error. These characteristics were most in evidence during the World Championships of 2013 and 2015. At the World Championships 2013 in Guangzhou, it was Ahmad’s initiative at the death – when the Indonesians were two match points down in the final – that saw them through to victory; a couple of years later in Jakarta, Ahmad and Natsir were flying high against Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei in the semifinals, before a couple of errors from Ahmad turned into stunning meltdown for the local heroes. ================================ Career's Highlight (with Liliyana "Butet" Natsir) : - Olympic Champion : 2016 Rio Olympic Games - World Champion : 2017 Glasgow, 2013 Guangzhou - All England Champion : 2012, 2013, 2014 - Asian Games : 2014 Incheon AG Silver Medalist, 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Bronze Medalist - Asian Champion : 2015
I'm like you, I've never seen Nova Widianto play in an international tournament, and we talk about it a lot
