I don't know ! Maybe it's a question of costs . By order the rooms for the tournaments every member association can choose single or twin rooms for the players and the officials. In times of Corona it would have been a good choice to take a double room for a double and a single room for a single player.I hope the Indian player doesn't get more sick. It is also very bad for Kidambi, as he will also lose his place in the World Tour Final.
Calling it a meltdown does injustice to Verma (to LZJ as well). That comeback and then saving 7 MP in the 2nd set was really fascinating badminton at high level. Verma had super precision in his shots and had no problem finishing those points. How he managed to play so aggressively in do-or-die situations was really amazing. LZJ is a very promising player with more accolades waiting in front of him. It was a tough loss, but he didn’t give the match away. Verma took it from him forcefully : )
I think Ginting is 3rd best player. from consistency not getting injured, staying out of trouble, etc. you can say without covid, Ginting & Axelsen will have added more titles while Momota getting injured. He has 8SS finals for 4 titles , 2 very close loss. Of course, not to forget CTC but he just belongs to CL generations. Before the injury, id think SYQ is in Axelsen group, but we really dont know SYQ form now.
Agree, Ginting should considered as #3, his capability speaks volumes. Chou TC? The 31 years old player taking part tournament diligently but only scoring inspiring result sometimes due to age factor, his prime is already passed. SYQ? Tough to predict his current performance since he has mental block to overcome post surgery.
among all the MS discussed, I like Ginting's playstyle the most... badminton need more 'pattern pattern' like Ginting's *insert TTY and RI also
To be honest, this entire project of badminton during Covid feels like a big point-hauling venture for team Denmark. And for this ****, they will unfreeze the rankings.
Yeah, Ginting playstyle isnt really like other MS style. Axelsen and LinDan gungho style or ChenLong and Momota defensive country or rally style.
it seems like because of the Covid-19 break time for too long period of time, the MAS camp especially for its national players took the toll as having heavy casualties in last week and this week tournaments...
Convenient to blame covid19 but i think their standard never pick up even after the reshuffle of the coaching team. The independent players have better showing
actually they shouldn't reshuffle the coaching team, before this the players were well performed under existing coaches...
I think these are the best times to bring youths into the tournaments. For example, INA sent 3 young MD to these tournaments. Basically spell the end of AdeWahyu and Fajri will be under pressure. Its sad for those who havent achieved, but life goes on. Surprised that Malaysia doesnt have regen yet (Post2000) in MD. I think AaronSoh well safe to say time will quick running out for them with only AE final to show, so do Goh/Izzudin. They can hardly beat GohTan which means its better for Malaysia to bring out younger pairs. I wish INA would send Putri Kusuma for WS, i think she d have entered the main rounds. Need regen in WS & WD.
probably because of Fajar's blue hair? hahaha. I did not watch the game but other say that the English pair were constantly giving pressure to Rian and it seemed to work. Yes, agree, should take advantage of the absence of China and Japan. Indonesia desperately need a few good WS, it has been too long since Maria Kristin.
Didnt watch the match. FajarRian if you see in hindsight is probably 4th in the INA lines now, there isnt much room for improvements. Fajar should be paired with Amri Syahnawi, a player that i kinda like / Erich Rambitan which is 1 of the best players in INA home tournaments. I think his partner Kusuma is just a so so player.
Wow HSP beats Chiristie, very sweet win after all the Dengue, Covid and injuries he had to endure. Looks like they aren't allowing any coaching for Indian players.
