Hey guys I have a knee injury which stopped me from playing a long time. I've gotten back into badminton after almost 6 years of not playing. Im really excited about can you please recommend the most soft bottom cushioned shoe. My right knee still gives out sometimes. Money no issue Im blessed with a good job and Im old Im out of date and from what I can read the yonex eclipson z is what I should get am I wrong ? Thanks a lot every one.
I had an ACL Surgery in 2019 so knees need as much cushioning and support. might not be similar to your Knee injury. But I have been using the ASICS Court Control FF this year. Probably the best badminton shoe I have used. Provides great cushioning and it is lightweight also. I play badminton twice a week and usually 2 hours per session. My Knees feel okay after each session so would really recommend Asics.
eclipsion z is the best stability shoes from yonex, i was used the previous version of it. shb03z it's good and protect my ankle a lot. now, i try Victor p9500 it's also stability shoes, it feel better in stability, but a bit less comfortable than yonex shoes. imo... you can look comfortZ2 or shb65z2 from yonex, it should be more comfortable than stability shoes but it will be less protection for ankle.
Asics FF have some great cushioning (I actually use the netrunner FF volleyball as I like the less twisty soles better, very good cushioning), so does the yonex 65Z range. The shb03z had less cushioning for me. An extra insole may also help a bit! (Personally I use the Sidas Active 3 feet range, but there is a whole thread on here somewhere). Most important is to buy new shoes when you feel the dampening is getting lower, I play two/three nights a week and this is usually around the 9 month mark for me, but depends on your weight and level of play a bit as well. If you play multiple days a week your shoes may not have time to dry out, so they may last longer if you have two pairs and switch between them, allowing them to dry.
Have not tried Yonex shoes as they run out for my size whenever i want to purchase. ASICS Gel-blade 7 is a shoe if you like a lightweight shoe. However, the ankle support may not be very good.
