At least I had an opponent with me to play some casual singles sparring matches. But truth is we were the only two persons in the whole building expect for the reception lady. So infection risk wise, this was as low as it gets. :)
And just for the record - the court was dusty. Too much work to clean it before the opening apparently.

The courts I train were also dusty and dirty. I needed to complain at the reception that it is a risk of injury. Et voila next time they were clean.

    BTW nice ZFIII, bro!

Thanks. Was the first test ride after staring at it for endless weeks now. Short review is to follow, but the first impression is... stunningly good. Imagine a ZFII and a JS10 had a baby...

Did I miss something regarding the ZFIII comment? It is an Adidas WP8 on @s_mair last picture posted here.

Do you guys imply that WP8 feels like a ZFII upgraded? May be you talked about it in another topic so may be I'm lost. :)

Let's put it this way - there are a lot of similarities between the ZFII and the P8. Compact head, stiff shaft, the grommet strips... and I don't think that this was purely accidental.

Footwork wise, I noticed that my workout routines during the break really did the trick to stay fit. Shot accuracy and consistency was clearly lacking though, but that was to be expected. Overall I was really glad with my game - but I didn't expect much anyways and simply wanted to have some fun. Guess that's the best approach to get back into some sort of routine.

Exactly. After such a long break you shouldn't be overzealous. That will quickly result in injuries which give a new reason for a break and gaining weight. Highest priority should be to find back on court and have some fun. Nobody will continue there where he/she stopped. I also lowered my tension by 2lbs to give my arm and shoulder the chance of a smoother re-entry.

For me the break was necessary and something beneficial. I discover the fun in badminton again. The last year I played for results, goals, achievements and with a lot pressure in my head and forgot the fun.

Sounds like the gyms over here will start to open up for training next week, with limited class sizes. I have mixed feelings about it.

I feel like we are never going to be allowed to play again here in the UK.

Here in Malaysia social/indoor activities still cannot be open but the government says they will see how it is next week (after 9/6). However the government says child nursery can be open already but with strict sop. This also i have mix feelings about it. My son said he doesn't want to go to his nursery yet unless the government esp Ministry of Health says badminton can play indoor already and start seeing me playing as well. That's why he is watching the Ministry live evening press conference everyday.

Is it???......the feeling of cannot play badminton again is like you've reached the badminton hall with a two dozen of your Datuk Lee Chong Wei and Superdan fanatic fans friends eagerly wanting to eat each other only to realized that you didn't book for your court that day...and all the court are fully booked already

Media have scared people senseless. People think the virus will jump up behind them and kill them. Some are saying gyms opening in July, others saying closer to September. It’s all a complete mess and of course getting people on a badminton court isn’t the governments priority. It’s frustrating watching a lot of our European neighbours getting well ahead and it’s going to be a while yet here :(
