He is already doing quite well coming from injury, I think he is the smartest MS player, I think he is the strongest competitor to Momota for MS gold.
i really love Lee Zii Jia's backhand smash, so much joyful to watch. On the other hand, tomorrow match just like China versus the rest of the world, impressive
On the balance of things, FajarRin deserves it. It will be more sad for them to lose after 17-10 lead.
I thought fajar/rian really gonna choke. well kudos to them for coming back from that disaster (10 straight points for minions from 10-17).
Yeah, I understand, SYQ has to work himself into form gradually, that's why I also said he mustn't give himself too much pressure in the very first tournament of the year for him. It's been barely five months since his injury last July. As for Marin, from what we've gathered, her injury wasn't too serious, hence her comeback was smoother. Still, frankly speaking, SYQ is mentally not tough as even his previous coach Sun Jun admitted (when he said, SYQ got to believe in himself). In the 2nd and 3rd set just now, he often appeared hesitant in his shotmaking. But, I am still cautiously optimistic he can and will overtake his compatriots, Lin Dan and Lu Guangzu, in the Race to Tokyo Standings eventually.
Gideon deserve credit for that 10 straight points run tho, he really variate his serve well...I wouldn't blame this loss on gideon at all On the other hand if fajar/rian lost this one, it would be 100% on rian
I'm pretty sure this was already discussed that her injury was very serious. A ruptured ACL is a career threatening injury. On the other hand everyone react differently when it comes to recovery. I wouldn't belittle her efforts and mental strength during recovery behind labeling her injury "not too serious"...
