o_O I agree there is a solid difference of level between those two pairs but the Dutch pair is capable of shining from time to time and they were far from looking "silly" against such a worthy opponent. Let's not exagerate or undermine players' efforts at this level as it was still a 1/4 final of a super 500.

While I agree SN is performing under her potential level and it can be frustrating for her fans I would refrain from using physical insults. That's very belittling and totally irrelevant. SN has to work harder if she wants to get back to a certain level as she is falling down since a few months but c'mon...

I think Shi Yuqi is letting the crowd who's behind Lee Zijia affect him

Generally I'm on your side but on the other hand if fat makes someone slower why can't we discuss it?

I don't know from where these crass people are keep popping up here and there. Just go back to Twitter or Facebook and dump your s**t there. What kind of people will get happiness by verbally abusing a person/community? There should not be a place for such kind of people in BC.

I hope the mods will do the needful.

    Play hard. Train harder.

Problem is with choice of words. Words like heavy , etc can be used. Words like fat, clumsy, suitable for sumo and hot dog competition. Are those terms necessary? I get your point though what you want to say.

Wait I don't contest the fact SN isn't fit or in shape to compete at the highest level or at least regain her former level. But may be there is a way to say it is what I meant.

May be there is no need to belittle a person using such derogatory terms like the user I mentioned and simply say the athlete doesn't seem ready or in shape or fit enough etc. There are plenty of proper terms to describe an athlete out of shape.

Meanwhile LZJ vs SYQ is a fantastic match and it's amazing to see SYQ in good form and LZJ keep progressing! That's good news for MS category.

This is only the first of 14 tournaments available for SYQ to play before the OG QF deadline, he had better learn not to give himself too much pressure.

Let s be clear. I m not a Saina fan but she can be proud of what she has done for India and its badminton fans. She s a trailblazer and inspires other Indian players. Saina should continue to play for money because she is a badminton professional. She already has fame and should maintain that to continue to secure sponsorship. Endorsements pay more than prize money.
You may not like her but she has achieved a lot for India badminton to deserve respect. If not for Saina, perhaps you may not have so much access to international badminton. Be thankful.

Hm, SYQ's movement in the third is worrying. Either he's exhausted or he doesn't want to put to much strain on his ankle. Remains to be seen if LZJ is competent enough to take advantage.

To be frank, SYQ is not known for mental toughness, somewhat wanting in that aspect.

What more do you want? The guy is coming back from injury. Will take time for him. On the other hand, credit to LZJ for winning the match and giving Malaysians some kind of excitement. Don't put much stress on Shi.

I'm sure his confidence mustn't be very high coming back at the highest level for the first time since his injury. It must still affect his game (speaking of I don't know how on earth Carolina Marin managed to get back to the top so fast after such a serious injury) He will get there! Question is will he be fully ready before Tokyo 2020?
