I first played w LN1 at a lower tension. I liked none of it except the repulsion. Tried again about a year later at much higher tension: It was great. This string absolutely sucks at lower tensions.
Try it a higher tension, at least 2lbs higher than your normal tension. It has a large drop initially so that'll settle to the tension you prefer.
Strung my LD Force & N9 racket with LN no. 1 Boost, at 26lbs. Repulsion is good, more control than previous no. 1 and the hitting feel also improved. Will be my preferred string for the next stringing. Sent from my COL-L29 using Tapatalk
Unfortunately LN66 Extreme still not available here. Hope to try it too. Sent from my COL-L29 using Tapatalk
Recently tried LN no1 boost. Great repulsive string!!! I am used to use bg80 and bg66 ultimax. I would say LN no1 boost is more repulsive than both. It does have softer feel than bg66u. In terms of tension drop, there is drops after few games, but i wouldn't be able to compare with LN no1 because it has been a while since i use it (tried once and i didn't like the tension loss and slippery nature of the string). On the other hand, it is cheaper than bg66u in where i live. Sent from my Mi 9 SE using Tapatalk
Hi jrblaze, Did you happen to experience tension drop on your LN no1 Boost? After playing for total 12 hour i experienced quite significant drop from the string. I'm not sure whether it is the string or just the stringer did not do a good job. I would be glad to hear feedback from you. Thanks. Sent from my Mi 9 SE using Tapatalk
Can anyone who has experience with both compare BG80 Power to Li Ning No.1? I am trying BG80P right now, and although it has good power (repulsion) I think it lacks a lot in the control department. I string at 22 lbs.
I run at the moment both in the same racket model. I can't agree that BG80P lacks control. If you feel so, No.1 is worse in the control department due less texture and have other strengths. Have you tried BG80? I played BG80 a long time until I switched to BG80P and No.1 is just in one of my rackets to experiment because I ordered a pink reel for my girlfriend. IMO BG80P offers more control than No.1. I think you should give BG80 a try. Especially at your tension it is not so heavy on arm and shoulder due the hard feel.
Do you use BG80P at a higher tension? If so, I can see how you would get better control with it. Does BG80 have the same repulsion as BG80P? I'm surprised No.1 doesn't have good control, I thought that was one of it's strong points.
I think it is a big misunderstanding that the higher tension automatically result in more control. Where does the string for you lack? Which kind of shots? I have a bunch of clients who string at your tension and lower and I never got the feedback that anybody complained about less control with BG80P. I personally didn't observed that I can't control the shuttle at the lower tension nowadays. When you can't hit the sweetspot at higher tension, you will automatically play with less control. IMO control is a sum of high tension and the ability to hit with it consistent and powerful. Especially control at the net is often more a technique issue, instead of tension. To your questions: I personally experienced over long time that BG80P had slightly more repulsion by sacrificing a bit of feel compared to BG80. The strong points of Li-Ning No.1 are that you get out much more time to play until it dies out of it and it has great repulsion. The weaker point is the control due less texture. The main reasons why I changed from BG80 to BG80P was that due the hard feel it was over long time not so easy on my arm, I get a slightly better durability on BG80P and could play it a bit longer until it die for me.
