CYF smartly in G3 started off by pushing herself hard to get a commanding lead as a big cushion so that when fatigue set in later, she would have better chances of pulling through, and, fortunately, the strategy worked, partly aided by Sayaka Takahashi's unforced errors.
well that is not right. not because Busanan breaks egg but seems like its happening against other players too.
Some of the top players are ousted today. The total number of upsets today is high. Kim/Kong, FukuHiro, Praveen/Melati and even Wang/Huang lost today.
Wow with Wang/Huang eliminated, I don't think CHN will get XD title . It's gonna be Dechapol/Sapsiree vs Yuta/Arisa in final
What’s going on with Pra/Mel...beaten by a JPN backup team? Is Mel injured? Has JPN figured out the counter strategy? Or are they just coasting after their two euro titles...
You do realize that from a motivation point of view busanan has more to fight for then pv Sindhu do you
I would say kim/kong and maybe pramel is the real upsets considering their opponents and also the results last tournament. The Korean pair is pretty good and fuku just won a high profile tournament. Similarly for Wang Expect more such upset to happen especially for players that have already qualified for guangzhou.
That's all the more worrying for PVS. Honestly, following her on Instagram (and I'm aware IG is not reflective of someone's real life but still) I barely see badminton anymore. Even her bio is like "for commercial / media enquiries please contact blabla". It's obvious her mind is elsewhere. And it's rather normal after winning the WC title she deserves a good exposure and a break but I'm surprised she isn't already back in competitive mode. I guess she knows what's she's doing though and she will be ready for Tokyo 2020.
Yeah, they lost to Yuki/Misaki. I don't know the reason. But, maybe they just can't get into their excellent form last month. After all, it is difficult to keep your best form for longer. I am surprised with Wang/Huang's loss. They have been in great form this year. I think this is the first time they lost early this year. Well, upsets will always happen here and there.
Country representatives in QF 7 - JPN, CHN 6 - INA 5 - KOR 4 - DEN 3 - MAS, THA 2 - HKG 1 - TPE, IND, USA Seeded player left in QF MS - 6 WS - 5 MD - 4 WD - 5 XD - 3
Even with Wang/Huang out, it's still a stiff competition in XD. Thai pair has been struggling in tournaments while Yuta/Arisa have been struggling against Seo/chae. It's open for anyone I feel.
