Although going from 3U ZF2 with head wt of around 39.5-40g to 4U 88D (37.5-38g) may be too drastic, unless he welcomes it. Perhaps better choice is 4U 99 (38.5-39g). However if he is not suffering from upgrade-itis, your original suggestion of 4U ZF2 (38.5-39g) is the best choice. Sent from my SM-G965W using Tapatalk
From what ive read here and other places the 88d offers better speed than the zf2 while not losing so much power. Also is the 3u 88d not faster than the 3u zf2? Is there much difference between 3u and 4u 88d? I was leaning towards getting the 3u Sent from my LG-H930 using Tapatalk
A 3U 88D is still faster than a 4U ZF2. I'm terrible at the net with a ZF2. My 3U 88D does a better job. However, a 4U ZF2 hits a heavier smash than a 3U 88D. (disclaimer : my experience) It really depends on your style of play. A 4U 88D would be comfortable. But it won't hit smashes like a 3U/4U ZF2 for sure. A 4U 88D will probably still provide you with sufficient speed yet a decent smash. If you feel fit enough, go for 3U version.
I love playing with yonex 3u rackets. Like duora10 / nf00 3u version / nr900 hendra / ns9900. Then, I go with 88s 4u g4. But I dont get a good feels on it, this is to much fast and not give me much power than my 3u rackets, so my aim timing with my 88s gones bad, maybe because the 88s have a shorter shaft n lighter after my other rackets above, Should I try 3u version of 88s / 88d? After read many forum, I've got that 3u 88d are similar characteristic like zf2. And zf2 really difficult to beat for me cz I'm not an attacking style, any suggest?
I'm a front player and currently using a 3U bravesword 12. Will I benefit using a 88s 3U or 4U? I see lyd uses 88d in the French open or is that nanoflare?
1. Cant really comment about 4u 88s but personally I'm using 88s 3u and it works perfectly fine for both front and back court. 2. LYD uses NF700 red.
Curious to know,is 88s 4u really too light for doubles? Spec wise i think it is not light and quite a demanding racket (Stiff & Head Heavy) or it is just too fast that it feels light because of its new tech? Or perhaps people say it feels too light because it is marketed as speedy frontcourt players racket?(Axelsen use it for quite a while though)
No, no, it’s okay. Smash is decent too. 3u is too heavy if our wrist is not strong enough. I struggle a bit when use 3u:
I bought 4u 88D one year back and I can't play properly with it since I'm more use to BP 290-295mm and my game style is more towards fast attack and mid to front court killer. If I remember correctly I played not more than 10 games with this racket till date..and in short it's not my cup of tea. However last night, I change my grip to thicker overgrip just to swift the BP slightly (I don't know what is current BP though) and then...glory! Damn, I freaking love last night feeling. Bring so much joy. Fast on mid to net area and now smash is bang! Previously I almost want to sell this and change to 3U 88S but last night, it changed my mind.. after a year of disappointment, now I'm gladly say I'm a happy bunny 4U 88D user. Hell yeah!
got a 3u jp coded 88d recently. Coming from z force 1, it is very fast and light; found the head to be lighter than expected. Surprisingly, the frame seemed smaller than my zf so perhaps tats why. Very whippy feeling indeed but seemed to produced very controlled drives. Full power smash seems to be less powerful than zf but half smashes required much less effort. Initially had trouble with touch shots due to whippy and bouncy feeling but one i got used to it it Is a breeze. Is it fair to say tat this racket requires less input from d user to achieve high power? Definitely a very interesting racket.
The frame doesnt seem like a standard iso and is actually smaller. I even compred it to an arc 10 and the head is shorter. Maybe cos ive been using the zf for a long time now tat anything less stiff feels whippy. Cheers mate just my two cents
Has anyone used a 3U 88S coming from a 3U Armortec 900 Technique? And if so, how similar (or different) are they?
