SS wise, WD actually has 9 different winner this year which is the broadest of all while XD only has 5 different winners. MD has 7. Still no one bothered about WD because simply 3 countries dominating and that style of play is long, tedious and boring.
ZSW's defense is pretty bad, look at how HYQ keep getting jordan's smash back, while siwei had so much trouble defending himself.
"2) Indonesia win double back to back victories. One normal for #minions , the other sendational in #XD." Steen couldn't help but meme-ing Jordan by making a (intentional) typo here?
they copy the icelandic chanting, the spanish "ole". Overall, the enthusiasm and atmosphere in french open is the best. Someone has more suppose but everyone feel welcome here
actually wanted to say the same somehow French open seem to be organised so well, it was really nice and cosy badminton festival (but they could improve on line TV coverage), could not say the same about Danish open
It appears to me that ASY is on the same kind of trajectory that LXR was once on, emerging from nowhere to win 7 or 8 tournaments in a row ( correct me if I remember wrongly) and culminating in she winning the London Olympics Gold. Will monitor how many tournaments she will win after the French Open. Looks like CL is slowly working himself back to form. Hoping to see the Rio CL once again in Tokyo.
https://badmintoncentral.com/forums...-group-stage-matches-19-22-may.180821/page-11 Post #212, where i said that An Se Young may get olympics medal and you have to read the whole thread for the posters who replied to me and they said that i am making very bold statement etc.
Has anybody got stats on WS players who have beaten TTY before the final and then gone on to win the tournament? It seems like beating TTY takes so much effort that it ends the chances of a player performing well on the next day. Maybe the same can be said for anybody who beats PVS and CM. TTY doesn't seem to suffer the day after a hard match? Also, quite a few singles players are carrying or recovering from injuries at the moment so it could be general fatigue caused by the tour too.
She made her own fortune. Some poster even said that she has to beat Akane Yamaguchi to believe it. Akane was beaten by her in straight games. Now, i expect him/her to come and say that Akane is not 100% blah blah.
Sindhu did it in World Championships. Akane Yamaguchi , infact defeated Tai in the finals of French Open last year i think. Many more did it. Yeah, you are correct, TTY and PVS and CM are very tough to beat if they are in very much form. This year French open saw TTY defeating Sindhu in 3 hard games and lost tamely to Carolina Marin in the next round .
