just wondering? has anyone here played with shorter racket? like the one which it handle being cut to make it shorter in overall length?
Yes, I bought one for my 3 year old son. Made out of steel. Feels heavier than my Yonex Ti-10. Because of the length you won't able to generate any power out of it.
well , short .. hmmm .. my gosen 5000ti is shorter about 1.2 - 2 cm compared to all my other racket : yonex mp30 , winnex nanotec 9900 , rsl 5millenium 66ti . still love the gosen over all others.
ok, i think i got nothing to do.... I choose one of my 4U racket with iso headlight. i took out the handle cap and cut 3cm off the handle and put back the cap. Now my racket is shorter by 3cm..(lazy to measure the overall length) woohoo...so very light!! 30 mins later.... <<play in double>> Manouvering-- so easy. Return smash--easy. Power--ok. My string tension is 28lbs...got to hit little bit harder then usual to get where i want. Overall i like it due better sweetspot... sometime feels like small kid trying to learn badminton with a cut racket.. hahaha
I believe, the so-call "shorter racket" in your guys' term, is actually the normal length ones (665mm). The so-call "other rackets" in ur guys' term, are the "long" ones, which is about 675mm.
Actually, there are shorter rackets by other manufacturers out there. I forgot the racket model (SL-75? or something like that) who only has 660mm in length
That is right. The standard length racquet was 665mm, and any longer is referred to as long. The max. allowed is 680mm. The standard length racquet is for defence and the longer attack. But newer racquets like the Vectran E-1000, a long racquet at 675mm, can be both an aggressor and a great defender.
Thanks ... thats pretty much exactly the information i was looking for/needed Now I just need to figure out how to unglue it... probably gonna be the hardest part
