He was always a showman and bit talkative. When was even in juniors, i heard him one interview where he said he is the next one in Denmark . Lol. I thought this guy know how to market himself.
If some people bully you by belittling players who "only" earned silver medals that you support well shame on them. You should just ignore it because it's pretty ridiculous. In sport a silver is an accomplishment too. So is a bronze no matter what people say and for some players just qualifying to the World Championship or representing their country at the Olympics is also an achievement. Players always want that gold but that doesn't mean there is no success for the athletes who failed earning it in their career.
This win by Sindhu must be motivation for those who have failed many times at the last hurdle and who self doubt. After winning that last point, I could feel her relief. She's been always sidelined and type of attacked by Indian media that "she is only made for silver and cannot win gold ever" . Has there been this much one sided final ever of OG or WC apart from LD vs LCW at Beijing 2008 OG ?
Dont worry about india. I am now coaching a lot of them. You all better watchout for some new indian boys and girls popping up at world stage.
Strangely it didn't feel like a one sided match at all somehow.. at least to me. It felt just right. Unlike the final in AO. Maybe it's just me. haha hard to explain
It’s popular amongst the Indian community in Hong Kong. But there is still the struggle of balancing time on badminton with time on studies. Academic achievement is still important in Indian society
Woww, you must be having some Indian origin friends there . You're right about this. Talented junior sportspersons leave their sport to focus on studies and "career" owing to expectations of parents and vulnerability in sports scenario here in India.
