AhsanRian in MD as well. I wonder who else ever did it in MD.

Its extremely difficult to get medal when you are rank 17 and not seeded imo. Most of unseeded player who reach Final of SS are mostly still ranked 9-16 like HokiKoba or ShettyRR.

Why Mia B didn't get any "help" from the umpire today?

Once again, TTY falls at the WC. She really had a good chance in 2017 to win the WC but chose the Universaide over the WC because the Universaide was held in Taiwan. The funny thing is, so many other Taiwan national players chose to play in the WC over the Universaide in 2017 so this tells you the priority of the other Taiwan players in 2017.

Oh well, next year TTY has a chance to win the OG. But I really think when you have the opportunity to win a prestigious event like the WC, you take it. Viktor had that opportunity in 2017 and he won the WC. Ironically, Momota was out of competitive badminton in 2017 so Viktor really made the best of his opportunity.

Best of luck to TTY at the Olympics next year. With up and coming players like Chen Yu Fei, there will be more and more obstacles to TTY in the future.

This experience surely adds to her career list for this young girl from Singapore. She will come back stronger in the next edition for sure.

    TTY forgot the two proverbs:
    1) Make hay while the sun shines; and
    2) Strike while the iron is hot.

Sindhu equals Zhang Ning's record of having 5 medals at world championships.

Yup, agreed. And TTY better hope that she stays healthy. Look at Carolina Marin. Who knows if Carolina will ever be able to play at the level she played at before. But Carolina Marin made the best of the time she had: 3 WC and 1 OG. Even if Carolina doesn't return to the heights that she did before because of her injury, she made the best use of the time she had.

While one setiawan playing on court, another setiawan is doing the duty of service judge. What a coincidence !

She'll be a legend to Indian non badminton followers because of medals in WC and OG. But to be a badminton legend, one has to focus on SS/SSP titles plus to the extent career win loss record.

Praneeth's post mathc interview :“It feels awesome to be a medallist. I was attacking a lot in the first game, and I was under pressure and that made me tired, but then my coach told me to let him attack and that’s what changed the rhythm. It’s a big moment for me and I hope it’s a turning point in my career,”

I don't get why Ahsan is not rated high in general. He may be rated lower than Hendra , that's acceptable but other than that the guy does a lot. And had good improvement after early partnership with Septano ended. His smashes may not be as powerful as FHF, JJS and YYS, but is surely effective with drop shots and placement. Having said that I hope Ahsan/Setiawan win their third WC gold here.
