I know a lot of people say that Choi's serve is dirty. But, I think this is not the first time Kevin has faced this situation. If that happens, I am sure that Kevin will go for brutal kill. Playing 'dirty' tactic to Kevin is like bullying a dragon or awaken a sleeping giant. God knows what happen to Choi/Seo when Kevin is in beast mode with full intent on destroying his opponents.

Well his serve is dirtier than dirty.

If you see ChristinaPedersen serve or whoever, i think his one is 5 seconds longer than even those players. and there is no art in his serve, its not even his natural way of serving unlike Christina. Its just trying to unsettle opponents. just plain time wasting.

I have seen in many times that Choi was simply just waiting for the receiver to get off balance to hit the shuttle across at that moment.
The receiver should raise his hand up the moment he is out of position to indicate that he isn't ready to receive.

I remember there was one time Marcus got off balance in receiving position after waiting for long (forgot against whom though) when the serve came, and the umpire called it a let.

Wouldn't that be a fault anyway? If Marcus has moved before the shuttle has been struck, you can't just raise your hand.

Meh it has always been like this. This time it was a bit better than last year.

When minions got the match point, Kevin looked stern while Marcus celebrated. Guess he knew what was going to happen next:(

He lost his balance before the shuttle was struck. The umpire was the one who called it let.

If you raise your hand the moment you off balance and the shuttle hasn't been struck, it shouldn't be a fault.

It is too painful to even move on. I hope Kevin won't snapped and start blaming Marcus. Whatever their difficulties, they need to come back strong.

They still have a chance at the Olympics. Come to think of it, TakaMatsu didn't have a WC medal before their OG gold medal 3 years ago. Maybe minions can win OG gold medal next year.

I only managed to catch the final stages of the match and I don’t think I can bear to watch the full match but who do you think performed below their usual levels more in this match?

Yes, one can argue in that sense.
It's just hard to believe since I expected too much from them.
Looking at their last performances, they were impressive.
    They were also fully prepared.
But yeah, not their crown this year.
Credit also goes to Korean pair. despite that service controversy, they have a well deserved win after playing a hard 3 game-match

Marcus. The Koreans might have played well, but not that well because Seo was weak too. Marcus could have done better.

The net was aiding the Koreans too.
Reminded me of matches against Kam/Son.

I have always worried about Marcus nerves. Guess he didn't prove me wrong this time either.

It probably sounds unfair to gideon, but I really don't think kevin can win either WC or OG with him. kevin need someone like ahsan, a clutch player that can make something happen in crucial time, gideon is just not that player.

Yeah, the nerves gideon couldn't handle in the big matches.
The coaches should come up with something revolutionary to solve that mental problem, before the Olympic.

Well guess we can only hope Marcus can be one in coming OG from day 1 till final if it's necessary.

However disappointed I was with the result, I am very impressed with Kevin's performance today. I thought it was going to be a total goner in G3 when they were trailing behind. Should watch the match again later.. and stopped at 21-21 lol

Sigh.. now I can fully support Liu/Zhang haha

    I
I was going to point this out.
But they won't be splitted before the olympic, for whatever reasons.
So I guess for one year ahead they should work together to especially prepare gideon to be mentally ready.

I really think Kevin should be aware about the possibility of his partner having a breakdown in certain situation. Thus, he also needs to be mentally prepared to carry the whole game alone, if that worst scenario happens. It's unfair for Kevin to work even harder than he already commits to, but they need to have a backup of backup-backup plans
