I don't think the result could be easily be turned around. Not from how the JPN players performed today. 3-0 was a shock while it had been expected to be 3-2 or 2-3 (JPN's win). And if anyone ever use their brain and think, 21-18 21-10 or 15-21 21-5 21-11 weren't even close games. Sorry.
Well said, good point. That's why I agreed with Morten Frost who commented during Momota's match with Lee Zijia that KM at the moment is not at LCW or Lin Dan's level when they are at their best.
Wow you seriously had something to grind. Did I even mentioned about the men double in the first place? As for momota. You really should have bet that he will lose after the first set. You are really very intelligent. People here are really as stupid as the commentators
Shi yuqi simply spectacular today. Chen yufei so cool n gutsy. And glad to see li/liu getting their rhythm. I was rooted to my seat all throughout!
You mentioned in your posts about "China" thrashing "Japan". So was I wrong to include the match between China's MD vs JPN's MD too? I had actually thought that Momota would make a comeback in G3 as he usually did. Of course I had enough wits to expect that and clearly shocked that it didn't happen? It was obvious that SYQ crushed Momota when he was leading 19-9 in G3. Didn't take a genius to tell that. Guess I should apologize that our intelligence level here aren't as the same level as you, where ever that is.
Momota played faster than normal. Smash a lot right from the start of the first game. Actually, Shi Yuqi cannot take 12 points in the first game if he didn't het some luck. In the second game, after 11 point interval time, Momota lost his reflex (not fast enough) and cannot defend when Shi do his smashes. In deciding game, Shi reconigzed that Momota was araid of lifting the shuttlecock and he got more confidence to stay near the net, waiting for Momota's net shot. Stamina is the thing I want to mention.
Momota said after the match: "As it was our last chance, I injected a lot of pace into the first game, but my body didn't hold out in the second. As the team ace, it had been up to me to win here. I won't forget this feeling of dismay (chagrin), and intend to become much stronger." He played in 2 previous days for 2 hours in total. Before that he had a day off. So he had easier schedule than for example All England where he outlasted Axelsen in final over 3 games. Maybe his stamina is not so good after all. One of his key areas after last season was to improve stamina and here we are, early into season. Weird.
Just be patient! They still get their chance in Suzhou 2021. But remember to make some projections, which team will be growing stronger over the next two years, which one will grow faster by then
Everyone has his limit and stamina issues will show up every now and then. The players are only human. No idea how a bunch of people could actually think that JPN players have limitless stamina which is not true, in my opinion.
Again, another big IF argument. To be frank, I myself thought, JPN playing WD first is even (slightly) better for them than playing MD first , but not XD, CHN's strongest link, but the more important point is almost nobody expected CHN to win the two singles, Shi Yuqi's more so than Chen Yufei's over Momota and Akane respectively ?! As Volcom said , hindsight is always 20/20. And I hasten to add, all these 'If' arguments are just counterfactuals.
I don't think 20 minutes of each games can be considered trashing. look at the score of momota match 94 points played in 60 minutes. it is about 38 second for each point. let say there are 20 seconds gap for each point. i think it is safe to say that every player have to hit the shuttle a minimum ten times to get each point. you would not think that is trashing, would you?
Wait for Momota's post-match interview/conference. For the moment, let's not underestimate his stamina and use it as an excuse for Shi Yuqi's demolition job in the 2nd and 3rd sets.
