To be honest. If Japan won ws and ms. They would have won. That 3 0 is not a true reflection. Feeling dissapointed
2 more years played in CHN again, in Suzhou. Oh well... if you want it , just buy it .. is that a good message?
Ina would’ve won if they won md and xd too Chinese Taipei would’ve won against Indonesia if they won md too Hindsight is always LOL
Hard road and dissapontment when Akane lost when she should have won it.the cup is supposed to be Japan. And that guy who said Indonesia would be a better opponent. Just get lost. You are a noob.
For whatever reason, Japan's players have a mental block again at Sudirman Cup. Last time, TakaMatsu simply needed to win in the final match against China back in 2017. What more did Japan want? The Olympic Gold medalist, and #1 WD team in the world in TakaMatsu to finish the 5th match. But TakaMatsu choked. Today, despite Momota's 17-0 record in team events coming into this final match against SYQ, Momota choked. Oh well, these are good lessons for Japan before next year's Olympics. It's better for Japan if their weakness is exposed now, so that they have time to rectify these weaknesses in time for the Olympics next year.
You are right that badminton needs more money to be pumped into it, but it shouldn't be just China doing all the heavy work. Japan, Indonesia, Denmark are some of the nations that can chip in too. Also, the markets that BWF is trying to appeal to eg. United States (primarily US, since there's a lot of sponsorship potential to be tapped in that country), Canada, Australia, New Zealand.
I do hope Denmark, Japan, Indonesia, India, etc, throw more money at badminton. The PBL in India is awesome because it's another way for the players to make money. Kudos to India for stepping up with the PBL. China is taking the lead now so let's hope other countries step up for badminton! I hope one day, badminton is like Tennis. Tennis players make so much money, that they go solo and don't rely on the national team to fund them. If one day, badminton players can make a lot of money like Tennis players (but still show up to represent their country in team events), that would be awesome. We need more countries to pump more money into badminton. So good for China. And let's hope other countries step up and put more money into badminton too.
I hope that day comes sooner than later. Less nationalism and more money for the individual is ideal since badminton is also an individual sport, like tennis.
