None of the rackets you quoted had the balance point close to 315mm, and the swing weight of Ax99 4u is ~90 kg*m^2. This swing weight is typical of a 3u head heavy racket. The rackets you stated are much lighter. The configuration for the original Ax99 4u is not available for any brand. The closest racket is probably Victor Thruster Boxer (Tk Bxr) which is extra stiff and has the swing weight of 86 and bp of roughly 305.

Then don't talk about BP like it means anything ;) those rackets actually had higher BPs, but because of the ultra low weight they're still light. The statement that no other racket has this kind of BP is false, though.
There's actually tons of rackets that are similar in swing weight. Just not necessarily in 4U, which doesn't matter, really.

decoy and Vivek Bagadhi like this.

Wait so Yonex stopped with Namd in fill body frame for AX99? I think I misunderstood

No. Yonex decided that 315-320 mm balance point was too much for majority of players, so they toned down the balance point to similar or maybe 5mm more than 88D only.

Somewhere in between. October was when we started to see the bp drop. The head weight actually dropped 1/4g after I removed the plastic. My ax99 was also 1g lighter than my 88d and felt that ax99 was harder to clear.

Doubt it. If the trend is anything it go by it will be a stiff shaft. Not a med stiff.

Here in Canada, I tried out 2 AX99, 3UG4 and 4UG5. Both were awesome. But I like light since I already have tons of power and need to control it. If you guys want a good quality AX99, order it online from Yumo Pro Shop or The Sweet Spot Edmonton.

Since late production ax99 is similar to 88d in balance and some people thought a ax99 3u played like a 4u...Would an ax99 3u (late production batch) be as agile and easy to hit as an 88d 4u or would it be more sluggish?

I would definitely say it has more power and easy to hit but bit slow. You cant feel it as much unless u try them side by side

You would be lucky if late production 99 3u is even close to 88D 3u agility.

I agree. I have a late production 3U AX99, its sluggishness is really causing timing issues for me as I am used to quick and heavy rackets (eg. 3U ZF2) so it says a lot.

This thread is hilarious. They literally decreased the head weight drastically and some are saying it's going to be slower.....good to know whose judgement everyone should ignore :D

Well... In one of the instagram post lately in from Sudirman cup, Momota was spotted with AX88D instead of AS99...

    :D
I get that frustration. However, we should be glad mods are as they are right now - dont want to know what it'd be like if they were more like those on reddit and silenced every opinion that's not theirs :D

right, but as long as the number of serious reviewer << these magicians who can make mass in the head gone just by adding grips and take the meaningless BP as reference it becomes very frustrating here to dig.

Too many new guys who come out of nothing and even some useful posters can hit harder with a 5U NF700 than with an N90. You can never be sure when it happens...
