So she attempted to play with a torn ACL? Wow.

It's a ruptured ACL, so what do you expect?

I just want to know how long she will be out of action. I am just asking for confirmation.

And whilst LXR made it back to international competition, it was quite saddening to see her play.

LXR was an exception. Her injury was quite extensive as far as i know. I feel she is doing great considering what she has been through. She might get better over next couple of years although it's not fair to expect miracles from her. I think CM will be fine (can compare her with Okuhara's injury).

You don't get my point. Thing is we currently can't tell anything about the severity of Carolina's injury - only time can tell. What was asked and what I wanted to say was that the margin in rehab time goes from a couple of months until being in top shape to 15+ months until 90% of her previous top form. And I think you won't deny that there is a significant gap between the top shape LXR and the LXR of 2018. Will she ever recover to her previous 100% game? Again, only time can tell.

I hope that we will see a healthy and top performing Carolina again asap - and god knows that I'm far from being her greatest fan.

Are you sure okuhara had the same injury and therefore comparable? I couldn’t find information on it with a search ( though that was a while ago).

I though that Marin's injury is different with Okuhara. IIRC, Okuhara had ever said something about her knee (kind of bursitis).

I seem to recall seeing an interview of her mentioning hip bursitis or tendinitis...

With a character like hers, I have no doubt she'll be back playing. I just hope she can get back to the level she was on.

Thanks for thr video Vozer. Fernando Rivas is an amazing coach. And he was lucky to work with somebody as talented and hard working as Carolina Marin.

I don't know if Spain will ever win another badminton gold medal at the Olympics again in the next 50 years with a different player that is not Marin. Fernando Rivas and Carolina Marin made history for Spain. Let's hope that Carolina Marin can recover and return to her peak form.

Analogy is quite misleading. Coach alone cannot do miracles same like one football player for that particular club.

Rivas has to find another talent and together they have to give cent percent to achieve greater heights which Marin achieved. Whereas Messi alone cannot do anything unless he has good team mates to play with in a club/country.
