What is your opinion on BG66Force? Looking statiscally it's seems like a decent Midway string? Or does it drop tension as well?
Any suggestions on the best performing string that won't break easily for playing with plastic 85% of the time?
Definitely suggest hybrid of ZM62F and ZM66FP would give best of both durability and playability. Put the thicker string on the axis that you tend to break often. Sent from my SM-G965W using Tapatalk
Bite vs Sonic: - Has more grip. - Has a bit more durability. - Has slightly less impressive repulsion. - Hasn't got the same cool a sound (no string has) So it's basically a trade off between grip vs power. Both are great strings in both categories though. Sent from my StringLab using TapaTalk. Cheers, FeatherBlaster
Hey Dink.. I need your help, now im at bg66um with 25x25..if i want +2lbs cross, what should i go to string : 1. 23x25 ? 2. 24x26 ? 3. 25x27 ? Fyi i used yonex astrox 88s (4u), and what different if u go to +2lbs?? Thx before Dink i hope you answer my question Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hi Temmy, 1) Why do you want to use a +2lbs. tension on the cross? If your racket shape after stringing is not the original unstrung shape (too round), OK go a +2lbs. on the cross. If the shape is OK, I would suggest not adding 2lbs. 2) Regardless, if you do want to do the +2lbs. on the cross, the comparable tension to 25/25 would be 24/26.
Thx for your reply Dink, I just wanna try/know how that feel if i use +2lbs on cross..i used yonex astrox 88s 4u now,is good for my racket frame if i go +2lbs cross?or not?im just worrying about my frame if i used +2lbs cross.. What different between my std 25x25 and 24x26(+2lbs cross??currently using astrox 88s 4u with BG66UM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Using a +2lbs. on the cross is dependent on your stringer and his machine. He will/should know whether or not to do it. If your stringer strings equally, 25/25, there no point in putting unnecessary stress on your racket. It's not worth it.
I already strung with 24x26 (+2lbs cross), tomorrow i will try and hopefully good for me and this racket..if not good i will be back to my 25x25 lbs.. But one question more Dink, if go change to bg80/bg80p from bg66um how much tension i will used??same like i used 66um or up or down tension?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If BG80: I would say go up 1lb. If BG80P: I would say go up 2-3lbs. BG80P loses a lot of tension after the first few hours of play. For me, 80P is great when new, crisp, powerful, excellent; but after a couple of days, the tension drops significantly and the string feels spongy, it's no longer crisp and loses a lot of pop. I'd stay with BG80.
So,if BG80 my suggest tension is 26x26lbs??and if BG80P suggest tension for me is 27x27lbs?? Im worry if go with 27lbs or 28lbs my power smash, dive, backhand was decrease..but maybe i will try like u suggest.. And what big different of bg80 and bg80p?i think bg66um more quickly drop tension and dead fish Really apreciate for u help me Dink.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If you think BG66UM drops tension fast, then absolutely avoid BG80P. Go with BG80, it's your best bet for minimum tension toss. Another option is LiNing No.1, after the initial drop, it holds and maintains tension and has great performance.
I am using Ln No. 1 and feel the initial drop is huge (more than Yonex strings). Used to play at 27 lbs and it dropped to 22 to 23 lbs after few hours even when unused. My stringer is a good stringer and use 4 knots. Is there any advice what tension should I try to make it stay at 27 lbs longer? Prestretch makes it worse
Very weird experience. I manually pull the string to stop it coiling/twisting (wrap around a bed frame or door handle and pull by hand for a few seconds) then use 10% pre-stretch. The tension drop is nothing like your experience.
Hi DinkALot, I'm new to the forum and recently strung my Victor Thruster K9000 with Aerosonic @ 23 lbs. based mainly on your review. It felt great for the first couple of hours, was crisp, accurate, and powerful. But now after about 4 hours it feels like it has already lost about 30-40% of all of those qualities. I don't know if that's because of the tension drop, or because the string is just not fresh anymore (or both). I don't have a lot of power which is why I chose Aerosonic, for it's high repulsion, but I also want maximum control and accuracy. Again, I did love it for the first two hours. Just to give you some more background, when I bought my racket used, it came with worn-out BG66UM originally strung at 25 lbs., but even with 30+ hours on it, I thought it felt great and gave me very good control, just no power. One other thing to point out, I tried a friends Victor TKF strung with Victor VBS66 Nano @ 31 lbs. and thought it felt very good, It had enough power with lots of control, but after about 6-8 hours of use it seemed to lose it's crispness, accuracy and power as well. Throw into the mix that I am an older player and experience shoulder pains around the clavicle, like something in there pops out of place once in a while and has a dull ache. Is there any other string I should try that will keep it's initial crisp feeling, accuracy and power much longer than Aerosonic, or should I have strung the Aerosonic tighter (26-28 lbs.)? Is there a string that feels like BG66UM but doesn't die within 6-8 hours? Any help from your vast experience is greatly appreciated! Thank You.
Richard: I'm not sure what to tell you about the tension drop aside from different stringers? And string tension: apples to apples (same tension?), different racket frames? Different weather, hot/dry, humid, keeping the rackets in the trunk, cold weather, etc... Lots of variables to consider. Aerosonic (AS), by far, holds tension better than any other string I've tried. At the same tension, AS string about 1.0-1.5.lbs. tighter than BG66UM. I say try AS at 25lbs. this time, to match your BG66UM tension, and see how it compares. Good luck.
