I find that sentence a bit hard to believe when I thought of Fuku/Hiro and their coaches scandal. They didn't seem to think much about their previous individual corporations. Fine, internal competition within Japan's national team among the players' and their respective individual corporation/employers. To me if the players do whatever or go wherever the corporation tell them to, they are just like 'chess pieces' with the corporation as the mastermind. I have nothing against the players nor think less of them, it's their life choices and I respect that. I just don't regard highly of Japan corporations in many ways personally. And I find it easier to sympathize with the other players who are doing their utmost for themselves and who are not fortunate enough to (yet) have a promising retirement plan when they are no longer in a competitive condition. Edit: Corporation -> 'Team'.
Here, you need to note that FukuHiro had been with their coach, Imai Akihiro, since their Renesas days. They followed him to Saishunkan, and now to Gifu Tricky Panders. As far as they are concerned, Saishunkan was not their initial employer; Saishunkan took over the Renesas badminton club. It is a different scenario. But I agree with you that next year is going to be vicious as far as Japanese badminton is concerned. With so many players/pairs vying for the coveted two Olympic slots, it will be interesting to see how far they will go to topple each other.
woah, that will cause a problem. no one will make a stupid mistake when they are fully aware of consequences.
You will never know. I supposed the players who did the mistake were fully aware of the consequences when they went to the casino back then. Yakuza power
MS players' win/loss record in BWF World Tour. Only the players who won at least 20 matches are counted. Chou Tien Chen 40-13 75.47% Kento Momota 40-6 86.96% Tommy Sugiarto 27-16 62.79% Shi Yuqi 28-9 75.68% Son Wan Ho 22-12 64.71% Kantaphon Wangcharoen 25-17 59.52% Sameer Verma 29-13 69.05% Anthony Sinisuka Ginting 22-11 66.67% Kenta Nishimoto 23-13 63.89% Jonatan Christie 20-14 58.82% From the win loss percentage, the order is as follows. KM, SYQ, CTC, SV, ASG, SWH, KN, TS, KW, JC. From the top 8, only Kenta that doesn't qualify to WTF. Meanwhile, Kantaphon is out of top 8 based from this order. I wonder if BWF should use this win loss percentage to determine who can qualify to WTF.
Updates: Carolina Marin Withdraws Spain’s Carolina Marin, who had automatic qualification as World champion, withdrew due to injury, enabling He Bingjiao (China) to make the cut. Marin, who has never won the season-ending tournament, was seventh on the HSBC Race To Guangzhou Rankings, but her withdrawal meant that the invitation was sent to the player next in line, He Bingjiao, who is currently in tenth place. Sayaka Takahashi, ranked ninth, was not invited as two Japanese players – Nozomi Okuhara (No.2) and Akane Yamaguchi (No.3) qualified ahead of her. Only two players per member association can qualify in each category. In fourth place is China’s Chen Yufei, who won her first major event at the Fuzhou China Open, while Thailand’s Ratchanok Intanon, winner of the Malaysia Masters, qualified in fifth place. India’s Pusarla V Sindhu, runner-up in India and Thailand, qualified in sixth place. Oh, damn. CM withdrew again. Last year, she had an injury that force her to miss SSF. Wish her speedy recovery. Looks like SSF/WTF always have at least one WC that withdrew.
I doubt He Bingjiao can go. Her injury in HK looked serious enough to put her out of on court training for at least a couple of weeks.
Let us discuss h2h with the players. Sameer verma vs Chou tien chen (0-1) vs Tommy Sugiarto (1-1) vs Son Won Ho (1-1) vs Kento Momota (1-1) vs Kantophon (1-1) vs Shi Yuqi (1-2) vs Anthony ginting (1-1) Except for Chou Tien Chen, he has beaten everybody else atleast one time.
Just got the news that HBJ can't attend to WTF due to her injury. The vacant spot goes to ZBW. It is nice to have 2 players from America to participate in WTF.
America is a continent, not a country. If you want to refer America as country, it should be US or USA.
I wouldn't care that much about this extra tournament if I am CM haha Better take a rest and prepare for next year schedule
