Skillwise I think fajar/rian are better than kamura/sonoda, but that doesn't matter if you keep hitting the net or out like rian in this game.

Among the top 15 WS, only He Bingjiao's stamina is worse than Intanon Ratchanok's.

TPE Hsu Ya Ching has switched fully to XD and WD now. I think Lee Chia Hsin is the one who still plays both singles and doubles, if I'm not wrong.

There are precedents for XD/WD players awarded Best Male or Female Player of the Year - Chen Qingchen in 2017; Misaki Matsutomo and Ayaka Takahashi in 2016.

Kamura/sonoda or fajar/rian, either one will be a walk in the park for kevin/marcus.. I dont see any pair in the semis can stop them from winning this tournament..

In the end, the Kento Momota vs Son Wan Ho match turned out to be a battle of willpower and stamina, and SWH barely came out on top, thanks more to his better stamina and KM's accumulated fatigue.

At first I actually want to see minions to win a hatrick like last year, but since ahsan/hendra only 1 win away to go to WTF then I hope they win it this time :)

I think KamuraSonoda one of the better pairs that take advantage of Minions absence/defeats.

    W MalaysiaOpen & Thailand (?)
RU Denmark , AsiaChamp & World Champ
and this HK.. Maybe can win.. Still the W-L record less than 50% in Final unfortunately.

So not a bad result . better than the rest of the pairs despite having so many early round exits, just a function of way too many tournaments.

Especially to think that LeeYongDae is back and unseeded, there will be even more upsets in terms of seeds in 2019 ( I believe totally from S500-1000 MD has most upsets if you guys can count the 15 tournaments). cant wait for it .

The funny thing is Sonoda only dares to shout against Fajri. In Denmark , they are as quiet as cat against minions lol.

I don't know about that. Up until the injury in this tournament, I think He Bingjiao's fitness has been improving while Ratchanok Intanon has been fluctuating.

Comparing to her form at end of last year and beginning of this year, Intanon's fitness has gotten worse.

Still not enough to break the longest match record between Greysia/Nitya vs Fukuman/Yonao in 2016.
