One thing about this Saina is, she has trained well. She defeated two of the japanese leading girls along the way to reach finals to prove she still has something to prove.
I love the way she beaten Akane Yamaguchi and Nozomi okuhara. She leads h2h against Nozomi now , 7-4. But she still has negative h2h against Akane.
She said in one interview when she was asked about who are the girls whom she feel she has to work on to beat, she did not mention Carolina Marin and Nozomi at all. But she said Tai Tzu ying and Akane. she achieved one. But she still has to work on Tai tzu ying part though. But i wanna say once again, don't write SAINA off. She will bounce back at time. Japanese girls has to work now . They were scrutinized by indian team of coaches. Sindhu has started to beat Akane continuously and now Saina also started again.

I think, in badminton terms, players in their late twenties, 27,28 and 29 can be regarded as veterans (i.e.,with long experience but not necessarily old).

Still very few WS are in their 30s, in fact, none in the top 20/30 in world ranking, so I supposed, Saina at age 28 is old enough. That's just my opinion.

I love when Saina proves many of her critics wrong at any point of time. When somebody here said, she could not beat any of the current top 10 player, she consistently prove everybody wrong by her work ethic. She works so well that critics need to think twice to speak about her in advance.

Well LD is 35 Somethin and so is LCW but i know folks will call me sexist for this but Women by biology have different stamina and strength and If Im not wrong I think she is the oldest in the current circuit and the other one i think of is Sayaka Sato.

So Yeah to Still being the finalist in such tournaments aint easy and I admire her love for the sport and her fighting spirit.

though Im not sure if shes gona be playing for much longer as shes about to get married..But I wish her the best.

There is always someone who will say she is 28, she can't beat top 5, but when she beat, she can't win tournaments, when she wins(in future), i guarantee, they will come and say she can't sustain it. Lol.

Indeed, Saina has performed beyond most of our expectations here, beating the top two Japanese WS en route to the final and taking G2 from TTY convincingly is praiseworthy, undoubtedly.

I'm sure Li Xuerui ,age 27, would take heart to know of Saina's exploits here, an encouraging sign that someone around that age can still challenge the very best. It gives LXR herself some hope as well, I think.

Indeed, if they found some of their foot, these girls will run for their money. Their experience will dominate them at any point of time.

The difference between LXR and SN is that in CHN there are so many top younger players it would be very hard for her to make a breakthrough comeback. While in IND there are still not so many top contenders yet, only PVS that counts at the moment.

I think it's an alright question. For example when players decided to have a family the male players don't need to get pregnant and giving birth aren't they?

Never assume the shot is not going to come back until it hits the net without rolling over and/or touches the floor.

I am amazed by how much these young Thai players have improved.
