Well someone should step up and follow in the fine malaysian tradition of unrealized potentials and underachievers
True that, close but doesn't perform when needed. They already have that moment against Li/Liu in the second game of WC QF. A few more losses and we can put Aaron/Soh into that category.
here's their performance results below, not include the result in world championships 2018 results: Malaysia Masters 2018 - Round 32 Swiss Open 2018 - Quarterfinals Vietnam International Challenge 2018 - Runner-Up China Masters 2018 - Round 32 Malaysia International Challenge - Runner-up Malaysia Open 2018 - Round 16 Thailand Open 2018 - Quarterfinals Singapore Open 2018 - Round 16 2017 results: India International Challenge 2017 - Runner-Up Malaysia International Challenge 2017 - Round 16
A few points that I noticed: - Aaron (21) and Soh (20) is a pair that have a great potential but maybe will not be realized. - Soh used to play with Ooi Zi Heng (where is he now?). - Aaron needs to be careful when serving, he has committed many service errors. - Soh needs to fix his smash, that is below average, he needs to have a weapon. - Both of them have good defences, but still need more adjustment to that. - At this stage, they are still too inexperienced. Need more experience playing Super 500/750/1000 tournament. TLDR; Have potential but maybe cannot be successful due to constant failure when in tight situation.
...you mean he cannot open his shirt Anyway, I have good belief about this pair. Hope they can spice up MD double soon. Consistency is the key.
I think generally the youth training in Malaysia produce players with solid defence but lack the sting in the attacking.
I think they need to have balance between attack/defence training. You won't be able to win things if you just defence, as tested by Koo/Tan.
recently these two had played in Sukma 2018 Perak, only in different state representative. Aaron Chia representing Melaka won 2 gold medals for individuals XD and MD, while Soh Wooi Yik representing Federal Territory begged 3 silver medals for individuals XD and MD, as well as for men's team... the main point here is these both have to play against each other in mixed double final and men double final, ending Aaron is the big winner for both events...
recent Korea Open first round they no longer choke as they made it by the score of 24-22 26-24, and it is very tight game...
