Always amazed how these people murder the rackets. Their build must be like hercules. [IMG][IMG]

That should be an automatic warranty claim from Yonex.

ok i have my own Astrox 99 4u AS code from Australia, got it second hand with two AC102 overgrips over the original G5 grip

I feel this makes it less head heavy and quite maneuverable now, it does not feel heavy to swing or hold

    strung with BG66UM

i have a mini weight scale with has decimal points

how to weigh the head to measure head heaviness?

do i place top of head on scale and then elevate the butt cap of the bottom handle so the head rests down on the scale?

Just try to keep the racket as parellel as possible to the load cell of the weighing scale (might involve having to play something thick enough at the butt cap to elevate it a little bit). You should only need the top bit of the racket head to be resting on the load cell if you're using a jewellery scale.

I'd get the ax99 for the trio.

Would give me a chuckle if they claimed it was strung too tight.

Strongly recommend the AX99 if you have strong wrist and arm and like smashing/drops alot! Can feel the smash and control both comes in perfectly with aerobite 28lbs.

I can’t say its suitable for everyone because i borrowed my friend for few games and within 2 weeks he still can’t do good smash with it.
Maybe the tension doesn’t suits him well i guess.
But he adds in that the net drops were awesome!

Now for the gazillion time @s_mair ;): No additional grip makes a racket faster, more headlight/less head heavy or easier to maneuverable. If it's slow, it will stay slow even with 9000 Overgrips on the handle. It will change the feel, but the existing weight in the head will stay as long as you remove it. Can we stop this myth, NOW!

Don't bother. I've stopped trying. Let them believe what they will. At the end of the day the only one getting hurt is them.

If they think and believe that for their own, I'm totally fine, but spreading such myths will keep them alive.

Trust me mate. You can't kill them. You'd have to kill stupid in humans to do so.

As a sanity check whether the good feel of the Astrox Rackets was not just a 'wow i have a new racket' thing for me, i took my 16 year old even balanced MP100 2u (which actually still looks pretty nice after so many years), replaced a number of grommets, renewed the grip and strung it @29lbs. It was the first time that i strung this racket to 29, normally i put 25 lbs on it (max for this racket is indicated on 22)
With the nice sound coming of the stringbed, with a much higher frequency than my AX 99 4u (strung at 27lbs but not by me) , i was kinda afraid that the racket test with this setup would point the MP100 out as nicer than the AX99.
On court i played a few games with the MP100 first. What i did like was the feeling with non-power strokes although i already felt that the racket is sort of sluggish. I did feel lot of control probably due to the tension. But with clears and smashes, i had to put a lot more effort in the strokes.
After two games i switched back to my AX99 and overall i liked it much more but missed some control. Apparently it is time for a restring.
As 29 lbs was maybe a tiny bit too much (sometimes smashing with full power on the 2u MP100 i thought oh no not again, tired!), i will try 28 on the AX..
But sanity check on the AX99 passed for sure.

Wow, do you think a yonex sponsored guy would have been motivated by who is paying him to push their new product?

Is it just me, or is this the worst new-flagship thread in BC history?
