Park Joo Bong and his staff really have to ask themselves how they managed to make this player worse...timid, less agile, simply no spark left.

nah I mean in general, I rarely seen him able to carried gideon when gideon are struggling, he kinda dependent on gideon's form to playing good. just my opinion.

Actually he's been underperforming since early stage of this tourney. If you watched their match against THA pair in first round, its very obvious that Kevin was really exhausted.

They have played non stop for last two months and they literally went into the last week in almost every tournament. That took a toll in their bodies. Having them make it to a semifinal in this tourney is not that bad after all.

As much as i love AY I hate to see her on this losing streak ..how has she turned out ro be from really fast and quick to now i dont know just not that good.

Have to admit CYF's agility and movement had me impressed today...Hope she maintains and improves..Id love to see taking straight sets and hope this tournament would give her the boost she requires

Mentally, most definitely. She is playing at this level since she was 16 and that non-stop. Always quarter finals and above, always expected to carry Japan. Maybe she should go gambling, get a suspension and reset. Because if you compare her timid, undecisive play to the fast, attacking stuff of 16/17, it is really hard to watch.

I don't know. Denmark Open, Dubai Super series and many more he did carry Marcus when the latter was struggling.
Well Marcus is the back court player, if he can't smash to penetrate the opponent's defense, they can't win the match. Unless they are the defense master like LYD and co's.

Could it be a motivation thing? I heard Steen or Gill mentioned once that her ambition or goal was to win Uber cup with her team.
You want her to do a Momota? Momota was lucky to only get a year suspension for doing something illegal.
But I get what you mean.:)

Well i am more sad for LeeChongwei then for Minions. Lets take a time to pray for his speedy recovery. How fragile is life that sometimes sports mean nothing.

Still cant believe it happened to him, guy with the most tournament titles. Definitely the richest badminton player . It just means nothing.

Steen nowdays talk very slowly and low tone, I believe his age is showing up.
    Gill is same as ever.
Now is the time to enjoy their commentator for the last few years before they retire.
    Now I'am sad..

How I wish He Bingjiao , of similar build as Akane's , has her speed of movement, running ability, overall fitness and remarkable stamina.

I don't at all get that "similar build" statement I'm constantly reading. Apart from the haircut (slightly), the talent and the shy personality, they aren't alike at all. HBJ is significantly taller and - now that she has lost weight - reveals a different body type as well, with smaller hips and wide shoulders, which is the opposite of AY.
As for the fitness, it is a bit puzzling indeed. On one hand, China boasts players like CL, Zhen Siwei, Zhang Nan, LD, CQC who have been physically top notch for years, on the other hand, there also seem to be quite a few who struggle with weight issues; Jia Yifan, Yu Xiaohan, Liu Yuchen and others. Don't they employ nutritionists?

No it was 2017. Around Sudirman Cup to Korea Open. But it was all done in slow halls never in fast halls.

If you look at Team Japan as a whole, you will have to admit that Park Joo Bong and his staff have done rather well. It would be difficult to lay the blame on them.

Or, do you have anything to substantiate that claim?
