Yeah. I put it here because the treat's a reward for their medals. But it seems more relatable to the Indonesian Badminton thread. Thanks for the notice.
And Korea, even though they focused on this event.. Also disappointing even though they didn't have many title contenders imo, esp since SWH was injured before...
I read it here that some players skipped the WC for AG and trained for AG. But don't know exactly where it was or whether there was an cited source
I think what made the MD final so exciting was because both pairs played without burden since its all INA final and Kevin was playing seriously without trolling as well so it comes down to both the skill and mentality of both pairs
You might have interpreted it wrongly. Insert 'India' in the place of 'Korea' in your memory. So many players from India skipped Many tournaments for WC and Asian Games. Result : 0
There were actually some posts mentioning SWH withdrawing to be more fit for the AG and some of the KOR pairs declined the invitations from WC to prepare for the AG instead. But whether it was cited or just speculation, I have no idea.
KOR also had withdrawn so many qualified players/pairs from the WC. So, it's clear that KOR have another target instead of WC.
Asian Games : Men's Singles : CHN 7 (6S - 5B) INA 7 (5S - 6B) MAS 1 Women's Singles : CHN 8 JPN 3 KOR 1 Men's Doubles : INA 8 MAS 3 KOR 2 Women's Doubles : CHN 7 INA 4 KOR 3 Mixed Doubles : KOR 6 CHN 4 INA 2 (5S - 10B) Men's Team : CHN 6 INA 5 KOR 3 Women's Team : CHN 10 JPN 3 INA 1
Li Yongbo and Tian Bingyi won it in 1990. I guess, it is the data for top 3 in each discipline. Republic of China and Hongkong were not mentioned in the previous post, even though Wang Chen and Tai Tzu Ying won the gold in Women's Single. Sent from my Mi A1 using Tapatalk
Moral is "Don't skip any tournaments for the sake of World Championships or any other BWF events. " Sent from my SM-G600FY using Tapatalk
More like "Don't skip any BWF tournaments/events and say it is for the sake of WC or any other events." Asian Games is not a BWF event btw.
The AG individual events rewarded the players points to their World ranking but not for the team events. I thought they are not including AG because of the BAC earlier this year?
The reason it wasn't included was that there weren't comparable tournaments on other continents. Apparently there are now, even though I haven't heard or seen any such thing. Makes sense that it gives the same amount of points as the BAC because it has the same regional restrictions.
There will be European Games, African Games and Pan Am Games too next year according to Wikipedia (my second best friend after google ) . European Games will have Badminton for sure, but not certain about the other events.
