Shi Yuqi will prevail this encounter.
That's what my mind is saying...
but I want Lin Dan to succeed.

Don't really see either of them posing a threat to him, he's been in impressive form these last months

SYQ definitely playing 100 percent today.
No chance for LD if he is trying to play "save-stamina game" like he always do.

Shi Yuqi always plays his best against Lin Dan, having benefited from regular sparring with the living legend, what with his advantage of youth and stamina as well giving him the edge.

Their results ahead of AE have basically been a string of first round and some second round exits. So there's definitely progress there, both in terms of results and in terms of performance. Today, they lost as 16th seeds against the #2 in a cracking match, nothing to be ashamed of. Unless you expected them to go from zero to hero in a single tournament.

You put the sound away out there on that one. Found the holes in the viewing experience. Big smash!

With SYQ knowing LD's game and getting a lot back, it's going to be a tiring match for the old man

Even if Lin Dan comes out on top against SYQ, it's a Pyrrhic victory, sort of, in my opinion. Next round, he will be physically stretched facing whoever.

Del/Riz and Grey/Rahayu are going to the QF! Anggia/Ni Ketut should beat Lee/Shin so I might see all 3 Indonesian WD pairs in the QF!
