The play is fine, but yeah the tone is lower and the ping is shorter

Hi Kwun!! Yes thanks, things are going nice, hope for you as well!
Had a badminton break for some years but eventually picked up again a few years ago and still enjoy it very much.
Nice to see that BC keeps offering so much during time, also like the badmintoncental tv at YouTube!

    Ok, now I'm miffed.

The thread got the better of me, and I decided to use my Paizhuan 76 hole method. It's not something I've used recently at all, and not gonna lie, I struggled to execute it correctly.

After executing it however... the ping is way longer than on a fresh YY job. Like twice as long. The ping wasn't higher, but it was longer. After bouncing the shuttle a few times, I noticed control was better compared with a normal YY job.

Strung a different racquet at the same tension but varied the main/cross tension. Ping tail slightly longer. Sounds livelier. Used Mains/Cross+1. Improvement.

With the better ping tail hitting the shuttle sounds nicer. There seems to be a better feel to the racquet. There repulsion is there but can't say if it's better or worse because they're different racquets. But the "feel" is nicer. At least it doesn't feel like playing with a wooden plank.

    My observation:
Same racket, original yonex grommets = ping much longer
Same racket, LiNing grommetbox = ping much shorter

Playfully no big differences. Has anyone had the same experience?

I have yet to try LiNing grommets, but i haven't noticed any difference with cheap Alibaba grommets. Maybe LiNing grommets are a little bit more flexible, which could explain why they last longer and shorten the ping.
