The 25-year-old also apologised to all Malaysians for the negative publicity over the issue, but insisted he was innocent. The BWF recently has served him with a 20-year ban. “I would like to humbly apologise to all Malaysians, my family, and my fellow badminton players for the shame and humiliation the BWF decision against me has brought to others,” said Zulfadli during a press conference here on Friday. “I am not apologising for match-fixing for I did not do it. I am apologising because of the decision of BWF against me. I am not admitting to the charges against me,” he added. Zulfadli said he will seek the help of the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) and Youth and Sports Ministry to pay the fine and to appeal to the world body. On Tuesday (May 2), the BWF Ethics Hearing Panel slapped Zulfadli with a 20-year-ban for “actual and attempted match- and point-fixing" which was "for the purposes of betting”. The panel also served a 15-year ban on Tan Chun Seang for the same offence. They were fined US$25,000 (RM98,000) and US$15,000 (RM59,000) respectively. The bans cover administrative, coaching, officiating, or developmental functions. After a two-year investigation, the BWF said it had enough evidence of match-fixing between 2013 and 2016, including text messages. When asked about those conversations, Tan said they were “jokes” while Zulfadli claimed he discussed matters other than match-fixing. I have no comments but seriously... They are just making themselves look even more like a fools if they continue to uphold this sort of denials or silly statements. .....Zulfadli... Just live with it and continue your life as best as you could...
ZZ and Tan are making everybody fools who are listening to them. Their conversation was made public and whatever they are doing now is a complete joke( meeting press). First Doping charges .Now this. I really feel for Kenichi Tago who was banned to play tournaments by Japan. He did not do anything related to badminton but got punished. The way they explain their conversation as " jokes" is just an futile attempt to save themselves. Sent from my SM-G600FY using Tapatalk
from what i heard, ZUl said BWF cannot even identify which matches he alleged fixed, if that's the case, BWF only has the whatapps massage as evidence
Indeed...good luck in that and your defense effort zz...as a marvel fan, i would suggest you use all the match fixing money to go and find the time stone and use it to undo what youve done......you need all the luck also for that (p/s ....fyi the stone is with thanos and he is not in titan anymore.... and he has no contact number registered to any msia telecommunication company)
Zulfadli is seriously using the victim card and playing innocent???? He's lucky now is election season in Msia, most people isnt taking notice. Everybody's talking politics. If not, he'll be clobbered upside down
gambling matches in the casino ? not in BWF matches? Do we have a new Casino Gamer here? thought Momota was the only one.
......hahaha.... They asked for my phone password..... I did not want ti give but no choice..... One of the bwf officials was holding my head and another official was ready to do a backhand around the head jumping smash to my face. .. So i gave and they read it... I was threatened... So im a victim.. ..
https://www.thestar.com.my/sport/ba...fadli-breaks-down-as-he-claims-im-the-victim/ Some of ZZ's claims are pretty wild, given that BWF has posted the details on their website. Also, as the burden of proof lies on BWF and not ZZ, if BWF couldn't establish sufficient, how could BWF mete out the punishments, much less charge him?
I think ZZ's complaint may have some merits: "Zulfadli claims that the world body had not given him a fair trial. “I was asked to attend an interview in 2016 but instead I was interrogated by a so-called experienced policeman from Scotland Yard,” said Zulfadli. “It was hard for me to understand his Scottish accent as my English is not that good. The interpreter given to me was unable to convey messages clearly. “I was forced to hand over my handphone during my first interview. And they had this gadget where all my messages from my mobile were downloaded. I lost most of my data ... those messages were taken from five years ago and I could not remember most of it. “All my conversations were in Bahasa Malaysia but they translated them into English. They picked messages that only had a few key words. It was taken out of context.”
ZZ knew that he screwed up, so he is trying to play victim card now. No thanks to his brozzer Tan Chun Cheang too.
-> Out of context Multiple messages (20+) covering multi-tournaments in 2013. Later, passing it as a "joke" by TCS. Not to mention a few players suspecting him.
It does perhaps sound like BWF may not have strictly adhered to the constitutional rights of the defendant in their investigation, judgment and prosecution of the players. Were there search warrants for their phones? Was the defendant and his lawyer allowed to access the evidence to defend himself? These and some other sticky points may be grounds for appeal.
