unfortunately Goh/Tan had lost to tall/short JPN pair in tight 3 games, next week AE would face another strong JPN pair Kamura/Sonoda in opening round...

Yes.... Very tight battle......nevertheless they justified the fact that they are more stronger together despite having minor issues between them and shouldn't be separated again.

CPS/GLY and TKM/LPJ seems very far from their best at the moment though. Can't say much for the former as they have only just gotten back together but TKM/LPJ have just been playing really badly the last few months. Hopefully they break out of their slump.

That being said, congratulations to Goh Soon Huat/Shevon Lai Jamie for winning the German Open! Can't believe that GSH has made such a good transition from singles without much success to a really decent XD player!

Tan/Lai seems very coordinated and systematic, people can easily figure their style, not to mention Tan's problem of not smashing and opting for drop more often.
They need to be able to adapt to situation like Goh/Lai did.

Compatible: Goh Soon Huat (back) and Shevon Lai Jemie complemented each other well to capture their biggest career title by winning the German Open title on Sunday. Now, they will be looking forward to a good outing in the All-England which begins tomorrow.

PETALING JAYA: One is mentally strong. The other does not give up easily.

And it’s this synergy that Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Lai Jemie will be banking on to pull off another good show when they make their debuts at the All-England in Birmingham starting tomorrow.

On Sunday, a mentally tough Soon Huat and determined Shevon complemented each other well to capture their biggest career title by winning the German Open in Mulheim.

The world No. 10 will be hoping to ride on the momentum when they face homesters Chris Adcock-Gabrille Adcock in the first round tomorrow.

Shevon complimented Soon Huat’s strong presence.

“He’s the most patient, understanding and a mentally strong partner. We’ve been working together well and the German Open title is the result of the effort,” said Shevon.

“We hope to keep it up but the All-England first round will be challenging.

“We’re facing a higher-ranked pair and they’ll have plenty of home support.”

Soon Huat believes they have the credentials to reach the quarter-finals.

“Shevon and I have improved in our defensive game and are more consistent on court,” said Soon Huat, who was a singles player without much success before he switched to mixed doubles in late 2016.

“She’s a good listener and never gives up. She is ever ready to learn no matter how hard it is.

“Winning the German Open is great for us but we don’t plan to rush into things, we’ll stay focused and aim for steady progress.”

National mixed doubles head coach Chin Ee Hui was surprised with the win.

“Their condition was not up to the mark when they returned from the Chinese New Year break but they’ve done well at the German Open,” said Ee Hui.

“They trust one another. The key is that they have good communication and they support one another.

“But being a champion once does not mean anything.

“They still have lots of areas to improve on. The good news is that they know it.”

The other Malaysian mixed doubles representatives at the All-England are last year’s runners-up Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying and Tan Kian Meng-Lai Pei Jing.

unfortunate for Goh/Lai to meet Adcocks in early stage. The former more superior and fast..

Most disappointing award goes for Tan/Lai, leading by 5+ points in G1 and ends up losing G1. Then being left behind 2-11 of all thing.

Goh/Lai probably far too nervous in their All England debut, meeting a top seed and home hero of all thing.

Not only that but they only had 2 days rest coming from their German Open run to the win in the final.

Yeah, fatigue might play a major role too.

as well as Soniia Cheah, she was leading in G2 18-13 which she might able to win the match, but the opponent caught up from behind and end up lose 18-21, and then in G3 Soniia totally lost it...

Kudos to Dato'. He was severely tested against the Korean and his defense esp at the decider was just outstanding. You can see that his reflexes at certain returns looks sluggish but what's more important is that he is in the QF

Talking about the QF, Dato certainly need to play better against you know who.... (not lord Voldemort or Darklord Sauron which their names should not be spoken here.....but Lin Dan) .....if you ask me about my honest opinion about this match then I have NO say but only one thing that is..... Why must they meet at this stage??????? .......Why? Why? ....this match should be in the final.........can't they just skip the quater and make it as a final ??:):)

Dato' is out in straight sets to super LD. A tight match only till the last few points Dato starts to make many unforced errors that lead to his defeat. (6 in a row in the 1st set :(:(:() .....congrats to LD. It's very sad to know someone need to go out when seeing this two living legend battle it out together when you are a die hard fan to both of them... ..hope LD could win the AE again.

Noted Dato face looked slightly dissapointed after the match when shacking hands with LD but I can confidently say that despite his defeat, if there is a player out there worthy enough to beat him then that player is no other then LD......unless if Dato wants a match against John Wick......

An all-MAS MS final between CJW and LJH. If anything, it is a good improvement by them. Hopefully they will get better.
