Jorgensen is an experienced player, he can trail from behind to win a match, unlike any Malaysia players, being trailed behind then decided to give up... never be like LCW who once able to make it from 13-20 to 23-21...
So, Austrian IC has live streaming provided by Badminton Europe youtube channel and this higher level tournament was left behind the lower grade (BWF Grade 3) tournament.
QUARTERFINAL round will be started on 12.00pm local time (2 courts) => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...533AE1-4375-458C-BB11-E6B186C5EA21&d=20180223 Two high profile shuttlers who capitalising this Super 300 tournament to gain much needed ranking point, Kento Momota and Jan Jorgensen march into last eight with contrasting fashion. Momota leads all the way to overcome NED shuttler Mark Caljouw while Jorgensen edges out Iskandar Zulkarnain, 21-19 / 21-18 despite the Malaysian player has big chance to force rubber games. Momota will face tricky test to progress, second seed Sameer Verma. A notable upset was scored by Japanese teenager Koki Watanabe last night. This 2015 WJC bronze medalist stuns current European Champion Raijiv Ouseph, 20-22 / 21-17 / 21-14. The unstoppable Japanese ladies, Sayaka Takahashi and Minatsu Mitani pass last sixteen smoothly and will cruise to semifinal as well. One more Japan representative in this discipline, 2015 WJC bronze medalist Natsuki Nidaira will challenge Spain number two Beatriz Corrales. Mixed fortune for Japan in women's doubles category where the underdog Matsuyama/Shida knock out second seed Russian pair Chervyakova/Morozova but 4th seed Aratama/Watanabe suffer early exit, lost to French combination Lefel/Tran. Aratama/Watanabe stole the limelight in Japan Superseries last year when they shocked world number one Chen QC/Jia YF at opening round. Denmark and England have secured one semifinal spot in men's doubles, Boe/Mogensen and Rio bronze medalists Ellis/Langridge are slated to clash in last four. On bottom half of quarterfinal draw, four Asian pairs will seek semifinal berth, the rising Thailand duo Isriyanet/Namdash who grabbed Thailand Masters title early this year will be the favourite to enter finale.
Huh? Seriously, I have n idea what you are talking about. Their 1st Women team did not take part in this tournament. Also, the men on the 1st team taking part are only Kento Momota and Richii Takeshita. Both are in need of more ranking points to play in the Super Series. Richii Takehsita was just promoted to the Japanese first team with Kento as he won the All Japan tournament last December, and is rank at World 123 currently and of course one has has to field him in this lower series to gain as many points as possible for the entry requirement of SS in the near future. As for Kento, fielding him is to get as much explosure and confident back, as well as to win points so that he doesn't has to go through the qualifying rounds.
You can't really call them that. Given the draw, anything but the semifinal should be considered a huge disappointment for them. In fact, the title is a bit of a "must" for both of the remaining Japanese pairs, as Tokyo isn't too far on the horizon and the time to make your mark in Japanese WD is now.
Apparently just went live: http://videostream.dn.ua/videopage/videoPage.php?g=c2J2b2JoK2F0Y3ZsbmhZ&c=en&i=eWlhaXVidGd1bA№f№f
also thought there would be coverage with commentaries on badmintonworld.tv ..... strange, since actually it is advertised there ....
From what I am seeing, Jorgensen or Momota is the contenders for MS title. I am happy to see both of them competing this year, especially JOJ.
