Very interested to see those old racquets.

Blacken for RM700? I believe there is no market rate at present since it's not often traded.

I just realise it's not easy to take a good pic of a racquet. Cab15 Long.

I picked up this Cab 9 up recently. In brand new condition. It even has a tag with Liem Swie King. The back of the tag is advertising a Cab 15 (t-joint version). Very tempted to string it and have a game with it. SNV31428.jpg

Restringing a wooden racket. Could be an idea to use a modern, thin string. Say 0.64mm, as it would give higher tension for less stress - seeing as tension is a factor of string diameter. Make sure the stringer uses some sleeve in the vital positions. Centre, mains at top, where the racket is thinner. That will reduce the chance of the string breaking through the wood.

I have in my set of Racquets:
Yonex B-9100. The all-time best wooden racket.
4 x Yonex B-8200 in perfect condition. Alu head, with stainless shaft, same as B-9100, except all dark blue. Still a nice racket to play with.
3 x Pro Kennex Boron 808 in perfect condition. Which also plays great. And has a well-centred sweet spot.
I have modern rackets too. They smash better than all the rest, but sadly lacking in feel. Pity that the game moved so much to power-play - with the loss of the deep game, super high clear and when you could roll the shuttle over the tape without just being lucky. Pleased to see that some of the gals are using the high serve to great effect.

Oh man!! does this picture ever bring back memories!! The B-8100, then the B-8200 were my second and third racket I ever played with.
I actually remember the Carbonex-20 (Cab-20) having a very flexible shaft compared to my blacken 1 & 2 rackets.

Sorry it's the second pics a Carlton taper shaft, looks like a 3.7x but it's oval shape not the classic round head frame

    I have the B8000, B8100, B8200 and B8300.

I did some physical measurement. All of them have a length of 665 mm and they weigh at:
    B8000 114g
    B8100 105g
    B8200 108g
    B8300 106g

Length wise, they are all slightly shorter than the newer rackets which are at 675mm. That is 10mm in difference.
On the weight, my rackets were strung and gripped. It may vary from the a bare racket measurement. Give it +/- 5g tolerance.

If you are used to newer rackets, it will take you a bit of time to adjust on hitting the sweet spot. Moreover, they are oval shape. Sweet spot is smaller compared to the isometric head shape.

Given that they are strung at pretty low tension (~22lbs - 24lbs), sweet spot may be slightly larger than newer oval shape rackets that are strung at higher tension.

Of course latest rackets with the newer technology out perform these rackets but the nostalgia swing will bring back the old memories and will definitely stamp a smile while you have a go with it again.
